EXPLORERS is the Children’s Network for 0-11s. Each week we begin in church before going to our groups in the Church Centre. Children need to be collected at 12.00 noon. ROOTS is our Network for 11-18s. We meet down in the Church Centre at 10.20am each Sunday morning and on Friday night from 7-9pm in the Church Centre. STUDENTS are an integral part of the community here and we run student networks during term time. See the network board in the foyer for details.
REFRESHMENTS are served after services in the Community Room. INDUCTION LOOP St George’s is fitted with an induction loop; please speak to a Steward for assistance. PASTORAL CARE We are seeking to be a community where everyone can be supported and cared for. We encourage you to ask for support, or get someone to ask on your behalf and we will respond as best we can.
GIVING There is an opportunity to give during the service. If you intend to give regularly, please pick up Standing Order and Gift Aid forms in the foyer. PRAYER MINISTRY is offered during and after services at the front of church. If you would like to pray about anything, please ask one of our trained prayer ministers. SERMONS are available online. Whether in the situation now through bereavement divorce or having never been married or facing it in the future this evening will give us the chance to hear experiences and look at the discipleship challenges. 28-30 June, The Jonas Centre Bookings are now being taken for the women's weekend away. Flyers can be found on the notice board in the church foyer, please return the slip to the office or a member of staff. We'd love to see you there, why not come along as a Network or small group? Come along to meet women of all ages, worship, pray and receive teaching from Mary Clark.
7-9 June, Marrick Priory A group of Men from St G's are going to the Yorkshire Dales for a weekend Sharing Life and Being Men, adventurous activities, challenging teaching and worship together. If you’d like to know more, please contact Dave.
Thu 18 July, Church The Xchange Xtravaganza event is planned for 18 July 2013. This is an opportunity to discover more about the Global Mission projects we are supporting as a church. There will be a meal followed by presentations by Andrew Buckler (France), Chip and Diane Cowles (Newcastle/ Agape) and Mike Chesterton (Tearfund).
7.30 pm, Weds 24 Apr, Leeds Minster This is a joint fundraising event for the Leeds Minster and St George’s Crypt. 3 Choirs are taking part: St Aidan’s School Chamber Choir, Sing and Tonic and The White Rosettes. The concert is free, but there will be a retiring collection
Sat 4 May, Leo's Rugby Club, Alwoodley James Barnett is hosting a family fun day to raise money for cancer charities. Players are needed; old, young, skilled, unskilled. Please come and give your support.
7pm, Sat 11 May, Centre Spacious Places is hosting its first ever dinner: a great opportunity to hear more about the work of Spacious Places, and hear clients' testimonies of their journeys of recovery. Tickets are £10 (£5 conc.) and include a two course meal provided by Nurture with drinks. Buy/book in advance from Ruth.
Sat 3 - Fri 8 Aug, Newark The New Wine Summer Conference is getting nearer, and many from St George’s will be attending. New Wine have extended the Early Bird deadline until Tuesday 30 April, so tickets are still available from £139. See website for details.
3-6pm, Sat 4 May, St Richard’s Church, Seacroft This Christian Skills Workshop event for 11-15s, is lead by young people, supported by adults and hired tutors. The theme is Creation - Spring Crafts. Cost is £3.50, refreshments provided. To book, contact Judith.

Following the meetings which took place in Jan/Feb, this interactive theatre production is on the move again. May 5/11/12 and 15/16 June Open auditions will take place on all of these dates at 2-5pm. No acting experience needed, just turn up with enthusiasm! 7.45pm, Mon 29 Apr, Left Bank, Cardigan Road A meeting is taking place for anyone who is interested in construction to discuss ideas.
7.30pm, Sat 27 April, Left Bank Leeds, LS6 1LJ This theatre company are bringing a very moving and adult show about love and sacrifice called A Different Drum, based on the story of the plague village of Eyam, where the villagers chose to stay together and die in the village rather than risk infecting their neighbours. 7.30pm, Wed 24 April, Church At the ACM we will be celebrating what God had done at St George's over the past 12 months and appointing 6 new people to the Church Council (PCC). The PCC meets every 2 months and its role is to share oversight of the mission and finances of the church with the Rector and other staff. If you think this is a ministry for you, then speak to a churchwarden/member of staff/Dave Sankey or Janet Gibson.
Sun 19 May, Church Confirmations by the Bishop will be held in the morning as well as baptisms for those who have not been baptised previously. Baptisms will take place in the evening service as well as renewal of baptismal vows for those who were baptised as infants. If you are interested in any of these, speak to a member of clergy as soon as possible.
