SKYLOFT // Austin, TX // 422,000 sf The 18-story tower is located one block from The University of Texas at Austin’s West Campus. Included is 212 units with a total of 677 beds and four stories of underground parking. The amenity-centric student housing space will have a rooftop pool, fitness center with 180 glass views, 24-hour study lounge and media lounge. A portion of the units will be offered as affordable housing to be accessible to all students.


CALLAWAY HOUSE AUSTIN // Austin, TX // 588,000 sf The Callaway House Austin is a student residence hall located in West Campus only one block from The University of Texas at Austin. The 17-story high rise is one of the largest student housing building near the UT Austin campus, with approximately 219 units (753 beds) and over 650 parking spaces. The project is located one block west of campus and is within the City of Austin’s “University Neighborhood Overlay” zoning, which allows increased height and density in exchange for urban design requirements as well as an affordable housing component. Accelerated construction of the Callaway House Austin allowed for occupancy three months ahead of schedule. The project is LEED® Certified™ and received three stars from the Austin Energy Green Building program for sustainability.


VILLAS AT SAN GABRIEL // Austin, TX // 362,000 sf This recently completed development is a six-story student housing project near The University of Texas at Austin campus. Five stories of wood framing over one story of concrete and steel framing will hold nearly 400 beds in 92 units. Additionally, the apartment includes four-and-ahalf levels of underground parking for 340 cars and 56 bikes. The building’s amenities will include a pool, indoor half-court basketball, fitness center, game room, patios and lounges, and flat screen TVs in every unit.


THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA, THE HONORS DORM // Tuscon, AZ // 6-story 319 unit A public-private partnership between the University of Arizona and American Campus Communities, this village will include multiple buildings to serve the University of Arizona Honors College community. The Honors Dorm will include integrated dining, academic spaces, collaborative learning classrooms, an interior courtyard, faculty and staff offices, and a recreation center.


SEAHOLM RESIDENCES // Austin, TX // 615,000 sf The Seaholm Residences is part of the Seaholm Power Plant Re-Development, a 7.8-acre neighborhood, which includes a 67,000 sf mixed-use low-rise and 128,000 sf adaptive reuse Power Plant. Seaholm Residences completes the development, rising 30-stories high with 280 luxury condos, comprised of four different unit types with 18 floor plans. The goal was to design a tower that would reflect the iconic nature unique to the historic, Art-Deco Power Plant. The balcony pattern design, which draws the eye up the height of the building, is a horizontal play on the Power Plant’s vertical exhaust stacks. The high-rise was completed in September 2016, but all its units were reserved in about a week’s time – a record period for any downtown Austin project. Located at the crossroads of the Central Business, Market, Warehouse, and 2nd Street Districts, the AEGB Four-Star Seaholm Residences is considered the new center for downtown living.


U POINTE ON SPEIGHT // Waco, TX // 292,000 sf STG Design will serve as the architect for a new student housing project accommodating Baylor University. The five-story building will house 700 students and a 600-car precast garage at the growing college. The academically oriented community is within safe walking and biking distance of campus and will be outfitted with many windows to increase pedestrian safety. An activated street front will connect to the community center while a courtyard will feature a pool and projector television screens.


100 PARK AT CENTURY SQUARE // College Station, TX // 340,000 sf The 100 Park Apartments are part of the larger Century Square urban mixed-use development. Located near the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas, this apartment building includes 250 units with a detached parking garage. The ground level offers 14,600 sf of retail space for a total of 340,000 gsf for this project. The development will provide a dynamic community-focused urban center rich in amenities to the Texas A&M campus and surrounding areas. Also part of the development will be a full-service hotel, conference center, offices, retail, restaurants and other entertainment venues.

The University Square project is currently underway in Prairie View, Texas. The nearly six-acre site consists of four buildings totaling 202,000 sf. – a three-level apartment building with 135 units, an eight-unit townhouse building, a 6,000 sf community center and a 1,500 sf maintenance building. There are 424 parking spaces for both the apartments and townhomes.


48 EAST // Austin, TX // 280,000 sf STG Design was selected to design an apartment tower in Austin, TX. 48 East is a 33-story point tower situated on the edge of downtown in the burgeoning Rainey Street District with views Lady Bird Lake and the downtown skyline. The concept of ‘urban nature’ draws inspiration from Austin’s casual culture and the two distinct landscapes through implied movement, the use of natural and urban materials, and proportional geometry. The building will consist of 246 apartment units, each balcony access, and structured parking.


ST. EDWARD’S UNIVERSITY JOHN BROOKS WILLIAMS NATURAL SCIENCES CENTER PHASE II // Austin, TX // 55,000 sf Phase II includes space for the campus’s large computer science department, the mathematics and physics departments, as well as general assignment classrooms. The Department of Natural Sciences offices were relocated to this student-oriented facility and, through generous circulation and interaction spaces provided, contribute to the close connections fostered between staff, faculty and students. Also prominently featured is a 125seat multi-functional lecture/performance hall developed to provide space for the natural sciences and campus’s general population. The project was undertaken as a close collaboration between Moore Ruble Yudell and STG Design, helping to establish a deep understanding of the two offices’ working methods and technical support systems.


UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS GATES COMPUTER SCIENCE COMPLEX & DELL HALL // Austin, TX // 234,000 sf STG Design, in association with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, recently completed the new Bill and Melinda Gates Computer Science Complex and Dell Computer Science Hall. This project included the demolition of a former building and the new construction of a 234,000 sf state-of-the-art facility for the top 10 nationally ranked Computer Science Department at the University of Texas in Austin. The facility consists of two wings, seven levels each, with a connecting glass atrium. Spaces in the wings include computer labs, faculty offices, graduate student rooms, classrooms, faculty lounges and auditoriums. The auditoriums and classrooms have large audio/visual components which STG Design worked directly with the audio/visual consultant to coordinate.


Student Housing/Multi-Family Experience STG Design has focused on multi-family projects for the last three decades. We have experience with many different project types including urban high density, historic/adaptive reuse projects and sub-urban garden style developments. Our multi-family work has involved key staff in all of our offices which gives the firm an innovative national perspective on this project type.
