It’s a new day!
A Message from Chris Turner I am so excited about coming back to F.B.C. Pineville! Psalm 37:4 says to delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. God has truly done that for my family. After serving churches in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida, we feel we are being called home. Some of you may remember me as a little freckle faced boy who attended F.B.C. as an active 2nd — 4th grader, participating in RA’s, Bible Drill, and children’s choir. First Baptist has always had a special place in my heart since I was baptized here. I feel called to build a great choir–led, blended worship service, incorporating various styles of music and involving all generations. I want to see the agegraded choir program grow and develop a music school to train future orchestra players and singers. I believe seasonal programs (Christmas and Easter musicals) have great potential to bring in the community and celebrate the life of Christ. I would also like to use music as a tool to promote fellowship within the body through special hymn sings and musical dinners.
Profession of Faith Decision Card—1982—F.B.C.P.
It is surreal to think that after all these years I would have the opportunity to come back home in this role. I have been watching God put together a great team over the last few years at First Baptist and feel blessed that He has picked me to play this important part of that team. As a minister at First Baptist, I recognize my role would extend beyond the music ministry, and I am a team player ready to get involved. I believe that great things lie ahead for F.B.C. Pineville!
