AND REMEMBER... ‘From little acorns do great Oak trees grow’

May I suggest that before you start you firstly get yourself a notebook, a pen and an A4 diary. Find yourself a comfortable place to sit ready to take down notes in your hard backed notebook, which from now on, we’ll call your ... ‘Wake up to Wealth - Business Book’ *** So you’d like to start your very own ‘Work from Home’ Business? Seems like a good idea and as you read this there are hundreds and thousands of people making a full time income working from the comfort of their own home in this way. These people choose their own hours of work, live where they choose to live and have more time freedom to spend with friends & family and even more so…themselves, so I guess it’s really about choice as opposed to letting someone else choose

for you, like a boss or employer, so let’s look at some of the reasons you probably have, to desire such a thing. 1. Low start up costs 2. Choose your hours to work 3. Choose where you work from What I’d like to make clear at this point is that I’m going to share with you a Business Model that has been proven to work in the UK and Worldwide and that it is NOT, most definitely NOT: 1. Multi-Level Marketing 2. Home Parties 3. Pouncing on Friends & Family 4. Cold calling 5. Monthly Hotel meetings 6. Gambling 7. Catalogues through doors 8. Putting fliers on cars and letterboxes 9. And NO it’s NOT a Pyramid scheme or selling Vitamins, Slimming, horse racing etc...

NO Stock to purchase, NO monthly targets and NO Cringe Factor! Phewee! – Thank goodness for that!

Ok, so now we’ve got that out of the way, what’s next? Let’s just elaborate a little on the 3 main reasons you want a business of your own. 1. Low Start Up Costs Unlike many ‘other’ businesses in the conventional sense, it takes very little money to get you started in the Business model I will share with you - let’s call it the ‘At Last’ model since I believe it was my ‘At Last’ moment when I discovered these secrets and I don’t just want to call it an ‘Internet business’ and I’ll explain why later. All you need is some imagination, internet access, a Domain name and hosting. That shouldn’t cost you much and I’ll give you some pointers on that later.

2. Choose your own hours Who says you have to be at your desk every morning at 9.00 a.m.? and stay there until 5.00 p.m. until you’re ‘allowed’ to go home...

With your own business working from home using the internet as one of your tools, you choose when you start to work and when you stop. You can work whenever you want because YOU are the Boss!

And Guess What?…’ll probably work longer than you thought possible because you’re working for yourself sometimes it’s not really work though when you’re ‘doing it’ for yourself….

3. Choose where you work from When you put your computer to work it doesn’t matter where you are, in fact you can be anywhere on the planet, any beach you want, any beautiful place you want to be and if you consider the travelling that some people have to endure every day before they even reach their place of work you’ll possibly be saving more than 2-4 hours per day by only commuting to your kitchen table or spare room….and if that’s a one bed flat at the moment - that’s fine. Say we take a conservative figure of 2 hours per day x 5 days per week x 48 weeks (four weeks holiday? - make it 5. ) 52 weeks less 5 = 47 weeks x 5 days x 2 hours = 470 hours, that’s nearly 20 days a year…wow! With the Internet as a business tool - the whole world is your market! By sitting in front of your computer, everyone in the world is now within your reach allowing you the time to achieve more and more. You can use the Internet as ‘a business tool’and although I don’t really like the term - ‘Internet Business’ since it is not clear enough to anybody when someone says “I’ve got an internet business” and it sometimes conjures up the wrong impression of what you do. This is a real and ethical business not to be confused with any dodgy dealings.

You can fully automate your online business and no longer have to work 8 hours plus per day. Once you automate your business, you can use the time saved to do it all over again with another project or interest, improve your existing business or spend the time however you like. So there’s absolutely no need to be spending all your precious time glued to the computer screen. Spend more time with friends and family Owning your business is a bit like owning your time and gives you the privilege to have more time to spend with your family, watching the kids grow up and attending the school events along with being able to see the older generation in your family when you want to and not just when you’re not working for the ‘slave master’, your employer. I’m not saying that employers are bad at all - it’s just that many of them appear to ‘own’ your time, and for some, ‘your life’ Some people are happy with a JOB (Just Over Broke) and need an employer to ‘look after them’ and that’s good for them. Some people crave to leave their employer and to start their own business and that’s good for them.

We’re all different!

Your business can be all about your hobbies and passions Now, this is my favourite reason for anybody wanting to start a business. An online business allows your passions and dreams to come alive and you can start this with very low operational expenses so rest assured you won’t find me recommending products or services that cost thousands of pounds or dollars. I should let you know at this point that mentioning $$ dollars should not put you off…as if it’s ‘an American thing’…just because I’m in the UK, I really don’t mind collecting dollars as well as pounds, and euros etc…it’s just a fact that when you have a World Wide Web as your market place, you will get interest from around the world and the US Dollar is the currency of the WWW.

The internet is a huge market and it’s getting bigger every day! According to the Computer Industry Almanac, there were 934 million internet users in 2009...we’re now well above the 1 billion stage. Now, is there any doubt that this is an attractive pool of people to target?

Given all the wonderful reasons for starting your own business, I’m sure that by now you have already made up your mind whether starting an online business is for you. If you have decided that it is for you then I’m here to help!

You can have more than one! Since the cost of setting up and running an online business is quite low, and you can automate many of the operations, you can operate multiple online businesses.

One thing I promised myself that I would not do is bulk up the pages of this study course with elaborate testimonials from people who have been successful using these systems. You will have seen names mentioned on our website and I can assure you they are real people who, if you choose to, you will meet at some point during your business evolution but I will not waste your time or mine with pages and pages of stories of ‘rags to riches’ success. Regardless of other people’s success, I want this Wake up to Wealth package to be about YOUR success so bear with me if I just stick to the point and get on with the job in hand.

BASIC FUNDAMENTALS Rather than turn this guide into a ‘War & Peace’ novel sized read, I think it’s better that I direct you toward another fact filled system- that you can return to over and over again if in need of an explanation or more information on a particular subject.

You may be a bit confused by some of the buzz words like, Domain name, web browser, web hosting, auto responders, URL, ftp and html…but don’t let yourself get bogged down in that. There’s plenty of information on what these are within the pages of our Training Package. My job is to let you know what to do with them rather than what they are. BUT, do come back to my blog on a regular basis and I’ll help you to tie things up and put together your business plan, website, advertising and ‘collecting’ of currency….in the bank!

The Simple way to Start your own online Business Ok, so now you know some of the basics of what’s involved, let’s get started: Setting your goals – See Video The process of setting goals and objectives and then designing strategies for attaining them is essential when starting your business so you end up with a Business Plan To set specific goals for your new business you need to ask yourself the following questions: 1, why do I want my own Business? 2, what product or service do I want to offer? 3, how am I going to do this? Ok, I think we’ve covered the reasons you want your own business so let’s move on to number 2 - here are some of the top best selling items/categories: CD’s & DVD’s Video Games Computer hardware Books Electronics Real Estate / Housing Toys

Greeting cards Cars Jewellery Health products Furniture Holidays Information products Self-Help products ….many, many more

When identifying a need, carrying out market research is part of your homework. One of your first steps should be to find out what is it that people are already looking for? Competition - have a look at what other existing businesses are providing. Customers - have a look to see what people are searching for on Google. Write all your ideas down in your Business Book - don’t try to keep it all in your head, you’ll get dizzy and fall down…

Write it all down, score things out, scribble and re-write again until you have a clear picture. Don’t become frustrated with the time it takes to get a focus on your picture. I might be a bit blurred at first but with more scribbles and re-writing it will become clearer so take your time and do some thorough market research on the internet. It’s better than jumping in with both feet before you’re ready. All that will do is result in a failed project and it won’t inspire you to continue. Another thought you need to have is….. ‘Do I have a product or service already that I could take to the marketplace?’ If you don’t have a product - you don’t have to make one before you can start. If you’re worried that you don’t have a product to sell then don’t be. Many marketers, including myself, started without a product of their own - they just got a hold of someone else’s - quite legally I may add. Quite simply, you can become an ‘Affiliate’ for another company and start earning commissions by advertising their products, for example, you can get an affiliate account for free

with many existing companies like Amazon, Argos, Staples and even Sainsbury’s have an affiliate opportunity. Have a look at

With a couple of hours research on the internet you’ll find a vast array of possibilities, like – ‘Improve your golf scores’ – Full Resale rights, ‘1000 Atkins Diet Recipes’ – Full Reprint Rights, and many more. You can also have a look at for an endless supply of affiliate possibilities but beware of the quality of some of the products available and do your own research avoiding the offers of 50,000 files on a CD for £1.99. Now that I’ve mentioned Clickbank, I wanted to let you know how important it is for you to be able to take Credit Card payments from your customers – many of you may be familiar with PayPal and NoChex, World Pay and some others. To some of you however, this might conjure up no end of stressful thoughts and scenarios of ‘what if this and that’. Do not worry about this – it’s very straight forward. My recommendation is that you go to and set up an account now, if you do not already have one.

Of course is available for other countries outside of the UK. Along with Affiliate Programs you can also purchase the Resell Rights to someone else’s product and start selling that.

All you would have to do is buy the resell rights to an Information product, download it to your computer and then personalise it, upload it to your own website and sell it!

All that could be done within a couple of hours from the comfort of your pyjamas sitting on the end of your bed with your laptop. I hope that this is Good News for you - so you don’t need to be worrying about creating a product first before you get started. You can create your own product later and I’ll give you more information on that later.

Your Online Business Model? The next thing to do is to choose the right Business Model for you. The Business Model has to be right for the type of business you are going in to or the service you are going to offer. When choosing you need to take the following factors into consideration. Marketing - how am I going to and what will it cost? Income - how much will I charge for my product or service? Profit Margin - obviously you want to make as high a profit as you can. Delivery - can the product or service be easily delivered to your customers? Identify your target market - as I mentioned before, make a search on Google with key words that people may use to search for you, and then you’ll see what interest there is in your kind of product on websites, blogs, discussion forums etc

Now that you’ve learned what a Domain name is, you should get one. You can buy a domain name for a few pounds / dollars. I have some that I’ve bought for only £5 - £8 and that means it’s mine for two years (all you have to do at the end of the two years is renew it again for a similar low price) I would strongly recommend that you buy a ‘your name’ domain as well as ‘’ like and if you can’t get that one go for some kind of variation of your name. It’ll come in useful. So, in your Business Book, you need to write down all the key words you would associate with your business. Say you were selling ‘garden gnomes’ for example…then you would make a list of words like ... Gnomes, garden ornaments, features, sculpture, three wise gnomes..etc until you come up with a name that best represents you and what you offer. You want your domain name to be short, simple, no hyphen in between words if possible - make a list of 100 words and keep them because they will become valuable ‘keywords’ for you to use in the future. When you’ve finished ‘brainstorming’, preferably with a friend to help you think of words you’ll probably come up with a domain name preference like…

Next you need to check to see if that domain is available and remember; it’s often the case that the best ones have been taken but not to worry because with some artistic licence you will come up with a great one. It may be that you need to adjust to .org, or… there’s lots of opportunity left to get what you’re going to be happy with. Ok, to check to see if your preferred domain name is available I tend to go to it’s just one I’ve used for years and it works for me. You can also try You just type in your domain name into their search box and they will show you which variations of your name are taken and which ones are available. In general the best ones with .com are a bit more expensive than the one that end….or .tv I believe that if you’re marketing in the UK it’s good to have a if it’s in Belgium go for a .be or France .fr..USA.. go for .us

Finding a Web Hosting Service The next step is to find a Web host to host your domain name. Now that’s where it starts to get a bit too techie and scary for some people. It needn’t - there’s no real difficulty in setting this up - if I can do it, so can you.

However, in this book I wanted to help you set up a business using the internet as easily as possible so I’m going to miss out the ‘hosting’ bit on this occasion and take you straight into a self hosting situation created by Google- for FREE! First Stop for a website - type this address into your computer

This is a fabulous site that can provide you with a free website and hosting and much more. Another great feature is that you can have a website in a number of different languages should you wish. The country options include France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico and of course all the English speaking counties. Wow…that’s another sigh of relief. I’m not saying that you should not be investing in your business and that’ll come later. I’m just trying to get you up and running without going to the many expenses some people do to have a glossy website. I know a lady who paid £5000 to have a website built for her, so there’s a saving for you already. Ok, so now you’re building your own personalised website and it couldn’t be easier on the site I just gave you. You have a website showing off your product with pictures, descriptions and a ‘Buy-Now’ button underneath, maybe an ‘Add to Cart’ button - this is all very easy to do and I can help you with that.

The next thing you have to do is invite people to visit your site to ‘have a look’ and this is only possible through advertising. How can I Advertise? 1. Advertise in your local Newspaper I wouldn’t recommend this method in the beginning since it can be quite expensive with little or no return for your money. National newspapers can be more effective but they will be even more expensive until you learn the art of placing an ad. I’d put this on hold until you investigate all of the other methods first. However, have a look at to see if you can get any free publicity instead by writing an article for a magazine or newspaper.

2. Write sales copy that gets results! Your website is your sales letter and not a brochure so you don’t want to clutter it up with lots of product when you’re selling a product through a sales letter method. Too many products in one site can lead to distraction and with it indecision.

The Sales Letter method of advertising is quite simple. You create a Sales Letter and send it out to a ‘hungry market’, people who are looking for your product and I’ll talk about the hungry market later. So you send out your letter in an envelope to say 1000 people and what does that letter do? It invites the recipient to gather more information about your product… on your website. When a prospective customer arrives at your website they will be given loads of information about your product and many reasons why they should buy from you - today! Sales Copy is a whole separate week-end Master class? Yes and No... Yes there’s a load of information about how to construct a ‘Sales Letter’ and there are many people in the market place that will do this for you. I’m a great believer in doing what you do and letting others do for you what you cannot do but would like.... I know it’s hard! Because we all think we can do it better anyway... It’s a bit like decorating, we all think we can do it, maybe a bit like all of the DIY culture – truth is we do a mediocre job and get by? The truth is, if you’d like to take this on board – don’t spend too much of your time trying to work out how this, that and the next thing works.

The point I’m trying to get to, and perhaps it’s premature, is this – Don’t spend a lot of time doing stuff that you can get other people to do for you – obviously for a fee. I’ll expand on this later.

3. Publish your own Newsletter You can start your own newsletter about the product you’re selling and with the Internet as a medium to deliver it you can send it out to a list or post it as a Blog. Now, rules do apply to Blogging and there’s a whole extra book on this but I’ll give you more information on that later. 4. Write a Book..... more on that later (Public Domain)

5. Google Adwords Now this is a method that many online marketers use and there’s a full training on this available but simply put you pay Google to put your website on the internet in prominent places so lots of people will see it. You can set your daily budget at a level you can afford so you won’t end up in debt.

Google provide loads of information and online tutorials to guide you and I will point you in the direction of more training later. 6. Lots of other variations of the above and my advice is to avoid any activities that take up vast amounts of your time.

Whatever method of advertising you use your message should be governed by the ‘Rule of AIDA’ Your advertising must first attract the ATTENTION of your prospects in a specific way. Your advertising must then INTEREST your prospect in a very precise way. Your advertising must cause your prospect to DESIRE the product or at least DESIRE more information. Your advertising must indicate what ACTION your prospect must take next. It’s a call to Action. So why not have a look in the Yellow Pages or your local newspaper to see if AIDA is being used there?

You want to work SMART not HARD! OK, at this point I would normally advise that you listen to my Training Audio which addresses the challenges surrounding that old devil - DEBT! and challenges you to Steer Clear of the Debt Trap. Contact me for your free copy!

The 10 Lessons mentioned on training CD: 1. Write it down and know your debt, see it as it is and not as you’d rather it was. 2. List you ‘must have’s’ versus your ‘would like’s’ - Needs v Desires 3. Make a decision to take Action Today! 4. Come clean with your loved ones and work as a team - it’s not your fault. 5. Get your scissors out and Snip those cards keeping only one for emergencies. 6. Talk to your creditors - they can be quite understanding, ask for help. 7. Consolidate your debts and relocate them to a better interest rate. 8. Learn to spend less than you earn - Expenditure v Income, Be in Control 9. Keep yourself debt-free and start saving 10. Increase your income through interest on savings or an income opportunity

Now, just to put this in the right order, I want to include this flow chart to give you a visual on what it is you are aiming for –

Find a Hungry Market of people who have a problem, need or want

- Find a Product to satisfy that problem, need or want

Next - Blow your trumpet and‌

Create promotions, websites, and marketing material to reach targeted group

Now it’s time to explain your ‘Staircase to Heaven’ We have a kind of sequence of events as part of our Marketing Strategy and it’s important that you grasp this part of the formula – Free giveaway - low cost front-end product to backend products. This is in effect a kind of ‘stairway to heaven’ - if you imagine at the bottom of the steps is the free giveaway – perhaps a download or free CD in the post. Then, as you build a relationship with your customer and they start to trust you and your quality product, you can offer them the opportunity to look at another of your products and/or services and these can range from low cost to high cost as they go up the staircase so at the bottom is a free giveaway and at

the very top may be a personal one to one consultation with a variety of products and services in between. This is the bigger picture of Customer Care and your Financial Success. Where some companies simply depend on finding new customers – we concentrate on finding new customers AND keeping them. It is a known fact that it is more expensive to keep looking for new customers than it is to look after the one’s you already have and focus on repeat customers who will buy from you many times over.

So, picture this staircase as your sales flow chart – on the bottom step you get your first sale… now this may not actually be a sale but it will be a ‘lead’ – it could be a Free Report that you are giving away to people who have shown an interest in your product. In fact if this is a sale, it should be a low cost sale, what we call a ‘front-end’ product and it’s not something that you are expecting to make a high profit on. It’s function is to help you build up a list of prospects – possible customers of the future.

As your prospects/customers go up the stairs they are offered another product to compliment anything that they have previously purchased. This ‘higher’ product will command a higher price but a very good value price to temp them to move up the staircase. This continues so that each stair or step has a product on it ranging from FREE at the bottom to say £9.97 on the next, perhaps further up there’s a £49.97 product, then a £127.97, a £397, £597, £1200 all the way up to a £5000 and above – of course you may be marketing in $$ , Euros too. You will have customers on various levels on your staircase.

To turn this on it’s head, some marketers refer to this system as a Funnel System which is as it says a funnel, wide at the top and getting narrower as it goes down the funnel

All your products are in the funnel with the low cost or even free products at the top. As your prospects flow down

the funnel the products have a higher value and of course you have a high percentage of people coming into the top of the funnel and that percentage will drop as they go down, however you income will go up since the product values are higher. Is it better to sell 100 items @ £10 with 100 customers to care for …or 10 items @ £500? What you will get is a mixture of both I hope that this is all making sense to you. I imagine that by now you may be getting a little excited about the possibilities of having your own thriving business?

Niche Marketing! So now that you’ve come this far you might want some business ideas to help you decide what it is you would like to do? We have many people in this ‘niche’ marketing business and the great thing about it is that when you create your product for your niche market it is exclusively yours. Yes, there might be someone else marketing their product which is similar to yours but it is not the same as yours - take Weight Loss for example. You know as well as I, that there must be thousands of weight loss products and services on the market today at any one time. Yet there’s new websites, ideas, products and diets coming from every corner of the globe, every day. Is the market saturated? I don’t think so. Please pardon the pun, but there’s a ‘hungry market’ out there looking for the answer. They are looking for an ‘Answer’ to their ‘problem’ or ‘question’. Now that’s where you come in and that’s what our business is all about - it’s about niche marketing - providing a solution to the markets ‘challenges’, answers to their questions. You may be quite surprised to know that there are hundreds and thousands of niche markets around the UK and the world

and with the internet as a tool the world becomes your market place. - Things like ‘Quilting’ - it’s huge in the USA and here in the UK. It’s a big business with quilts being made at home by people to give to relations as gifts, there’s no end of patterns and tips on this subject but if you’d asked me last year about quilting, I would not have been able to tell you anything about it. I know someone whose friend is a marine biologist and has an interest in fish - together they have developed a business around that niche of people who keep fish in a tank at home the goldfish bowl type thing but on a higher level - have you seen those fancy restaurants with the exotic fish in huge tanks? Well, these restaurants will need some help and guidance on how to look after the fish, the tanks and all the equipment that’s required to keep the fish healthy. So that’s a niche. The same man has a passion for the Aston Martin motor car but not just any old Aston Martin, it has to be a certain model and a certain colour and that’s the kind of thing that drills a general business down to a niche business. Suppose you are a Gardener, thinking, ‘how could I use this ‘At last’ approach to developing my gardening business?’ Well, let’s have a look. I need to ‘niche’ my gardening business in some way to make me more of a unique attraction to my existing customers and to the wider public at large - what can I do to drill down to a niche - or maybe more than one niche.

You see you are not limited to having only one business as you would be in the conventional market place. Let’s face it, if you were a Gardener and had a dozen customers to look after, that would probably be enough to take up all of your time. With our approach, you do not have to limit yourself to just one business. So, to get back to the job in hand - Gardener to niche Gardener? Let’s assume that as a Gardener you are undertaking routing maintenance to a dozen customer’s gardens in your local area let’s make that two dozen. So you have 24 customers paying you X amount per hour every week or month for your services. We’ll call this commitment 12 customers per week, 6 days a week = 2 per day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon on a regular basis week in, week out. That is really all one person could cope with unless you want to be in the business of employing other gardeners and build a team and then a Landscaping Company with Pay & Conditions, Pensions, Sickness, and Bonuses etc to think about? Maybe you could then think, how could I customise my gardening service from a general service to more of a niche service?

I can continue to service my existing customer base and develop my niche at the same time. Unless you’re charging £100+ per hour = 40 hours per week, let’s add day 6 and maybe some evenings in the summer. That be around 55 hours per week at £100 per hour = £5500, it’s difficult to make a fortune by proving a service. The real money is in providing a ‘Product’ - especially a product with a high perceived value. Now, perceived value is the key here and I’d like to expand on that for you. When you sell your time and expertise for money, there’s a limit - not on your expertise but on your time - we all have only 24 hours per day and most of us spend a third of that sleeping which leaves us with 16 hours and even with the best will and work ethic in the world you will need some time to brush your teeth so you will only have about 8 - 10 hours per day to sell for money. Now, the other way to work is not to sell your time for money but to sell your expertise for money - your expertise, as a product, can be created once and sold to many - I’ll say that again, created once and sold to many. I hope that this is getting your juices flowing, the old grey matter working and your heart a pumping because this may be the most exciting thing you’ve thought about for some time!

So, here we are - Gardener looking at becoming Niche Marketer…. Where do we go from here…I suggest to take a piece of A4 paper, once again, as I ask in the recordings - fold it in half or in three, it’s up to you. Now, in the left hand column or area of your paper list the things you do on a regular basis for your gardening clients things like  Grass cutting  Shrub bed maintenance  Pruning Ok, that’s a few common or garden tasks, if you like. On the right hand side of your page list some ideas on how you could niche this down to a product or service with a higher perceived value. For example: take the list and look at it from another angle.  Grass cutting  Shrub bed maintenance  Pruning  Planting*  Fencing*  Weeding  Decking*  Ponds*  Rain water harvesting*

 Sustainability*  Slabs The tasks that I have highlighted have now become niche ‘items’ or even ‘products’ for example could you supply the plants/decking/ponds/ etc which you buy at wholesale and sell at retail? Could you sell a rain water butt to your existing customer rather than him or her going to a superstore to get one?….. Ok, we haven’t really got to the niche yet but we’re getting there. Ask yourself this – ‘What’s, not only fashionable in ‘Gardening’ but, becoming a trend that will probably be here for some time?’ Maybe it’s all about ‘sustainability’ ‘recycling’ etc… perhaps this is where your niche may come from. Don’t try to invent something new either, this is not about becoming a pioneer although if you do have a new product idea, that’s fine too but what you want to do is provide your customers with the things that they are already looking for. How do you find out what people are looking for?

Well, as I mentioned earlier there’s a fabulous website that you can go to see what people are looking for….and that’s You just type into the address bar a subject you are interested in - say ‘rain water harvesting’ Here’s what I found - - -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------‘Welcome to the Rainwater Harvesting Guide, where water is gold. The best way to learn about rainwater harvesting is to read books on the subject, here are my current reviews. I also manufacturer a rainwater tank and rain barrels for low cost rainwater collection. When you purchase rain barrels, you support my environmental projects including this website, thank you!’ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There are thousands of sites but the interesting thing is, when you type in ‘rain water harvesting’ - you get to see how many other people have done the same - that’s how many people over the last month have typed in ‘rain water harvesting’. When I did this just now the number was 1,280,000 people Wow!

Look for a Hungry Market

Let me repeat that so it’s clear – 1,280,000 people have recently type in a search for rain water harvesting. Do you think there’s a hungry market for this niche? Yes, I think there is. So, just imagine if you were a retired Teacher or Banker, maybe a Butcher, a Baker or Candlestick maker…. (I know) Whatever you’re past experience or profession, imagine how much information you have gathered over the years and people have an insatiable appetite for information. If you could collate this as an Information Product and had a passion for making this available to others, you could make a fortune. As another example Suppose you are, at present, qualified in Human Resources or maybe you have a Legal qualification. You may be frustrated with your situation but you don’t want to throw away all that you’ve learned so far- you simply want to diversify, perhaps into to unknown waters but are unsure of the outcome. How could you best make a decision on what’s best for you? Carry out some research!

Say you’re in Human Resources and you’d like to explore the possibilities of providing a service to a niche market on a PartTime basis - where would you start? You’d start at the beginning with that famous piece of A4 paper or use your Business Book. On the left hand side list all of the areas that you are qualified in - keep it general at this stage.  Employment Law  Personal Development  Redundancy I’m sure the list could become very long but for the purposes of this example, go to the right hand side and break that list down from general to specialist subjects Now, as we did with the Gardener - let’s have a look at this breakdown list.  Employment Law  Personal Development*  Redundancy*  Unfair Dismissal*  Pension Provision*  Sickness recording  Bankruptcy So, once again we can see that there’s ample opportunity to find niche services or products that you could provide for your hungry market.

For example, say you had a business offering a select, high quality, discreet service for those people or employers wishing to …make a will, or investigate and employee’s unusual behavior, advise on redundancy or just how to deal with a certain situation - would you be more than qualified and able to provide such a service? You could just specialise in a couple of particularly ‘difficult’ subject areas that have a high perceived value and leave the general work to the market place. I think that the drilling down is a stumbling block for many people but once you get into the idea of making a list and reducing that to some of the more basic elements, I think you may surprise yourself by just how qualified you are to start your own business - working from home. Of course, I’m sure you’ve heard people talk of all the difficulties they’ve had ‘keeping the books’ or calculating the vat, dealing with refunds etc and just how difficult it is to work for yourself – it’s just an excuse often used by people who would rather stay in their comfort zone. With your own business from home, there’s no need to be concerned with those things - we have a great accountant Rob Sherwood, ‘Tax without Tears’ and I can recommend his company should you need to organise your book keeping.

To be honest I have heard every excuse in the book, from some highly intelligent people, on why they just couldn’t start their own business - In the early days I used to get so annoyed listening to this drivel but latterly I’ve just learned to give up on those who will not help themselves. I hope that by now I’ve managed to reveal the niche market that could be yours. Dragon’s Den? - let’s be realistic though. If you have a passion for collecting rare Belgian chocolate boxes then there may not be a hungry market out there rushing to buy your empty boxes - so, for that reason - I’m out! Once you’ve drilled down and found your particular niche market you’ll need to get organised and become ‘one’ with the business fraternity. That simply means that you need to…..Oh No! Not another list? - YES.

Ok, so you’re ready - You’ve found a hungry market and you have something to offer them - You have a product or service - You now need some marketing material

At this stage I would suggest you think very carefully about your marketing campaign. I do believe that I have earned the T-Shirt when it comes to what NOT to do as a marketing campaign and how not to spend your very valuable time. I would like to share with you some of the things I did previously…I call it my ‘apprenticeship’ Here’s the list of Business Opportunities I have tried –  I tried putting brochures through letter boxes and the picking them up the next day with orders.  I tried that again - with another company.  I spent some time knocking on doors asking people if they’d like to buy a complete encyclopedia set  I sent £5 to an unknown man in a ‘chain-letter’ type situation  I gave £20 to a work colleague to buy a certificate so that I could sell it on  I purchased a folder that would show me the power of MLM and this involved me selling products to my friends and family  I chased a dream with a high end nutrition company  I tried very hard to sell an online games idea  I bought into a High End Personal Development Company  I then bought into another, better high end Personal Development Company

I then found something that I am more excited about than I ever thought possible – Wake up to Wealth! I hope that my admissions of failure will give you some hope and that you’ll realise that ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ Ok, with that out of the way - let’s talk about you… Get that invaluable A4 piece of paper out and turn it over so we’re looking at the back On the left hand side - list all the things you are GOOD at! Now, come on and don’t start that nonsense about being good at nothing. List them all down… Ok, so we’ve got a list of things that you are good at….

So, you’re good at:  Cooking  Walking  Having a Laugh So, what are YOU good at?

My late Auntie Nettie was great at making ‘Crispies’ they were a kind of biscuit made by mixing Kellogg’s rice crispies with sugar and honey and ended up as a tea time treat. I know people who are amazing; they often create things out of nothing and have no idea just how inspirational they are. Some people call me lucky and I guess there’s times when I’d say ‘yes I am very lucky’ I am a very fortunate man and I’ve discovered the key… I would also add that the harder I work - the luckier I get! I am guessing that you are a highly intelligent person – so you will not be surprised to learn that there are some people who will not, for the life of them, get off their bottoms and get started, make a start or get into action - you name it, they will find every reason why they cannot do this, that and everything else. Imagine if, when you were born and six months on from that date your mum was playing with you on the carpet in your sitting room after you’d had some milk or maybe by that time you were experimenting with semi-solids foods. Imaging if, when you thought, ‘I’ll have a plunge at that Sofa’ just to see if I can make it? Mum exclaims - Stop!

Your scared mum tries to stop you doing what’s natural…. The point that I’m trying to get to is…. You spend months trying to teach your child to walk & talk and the when he/she does so, you then spend the rest of your time telling them to ‘shut up and sit down’... only kidding. It’s a Confusing World Yes, it can be a confusing world if you let it - but now that you have an insight into the world of Niche Marketing, you too can enter into this fascination sphere and if you’re not sure if you can do it or not, this would be a good time to watch the Movie, The Secret Watch the DVD now, find a quiet place to watch it and take notes. ********************************

Articles of Interest At this point I’d like to introduce you to Article Marketing and to let you know what’s available to you. Go Articles is, I think, the webs largest free content site. You can find some great information here: So, if you think back to the Gardener example and the Gardener is thinking ‘how can I get some ideas to ‘niche’ my business – here they are. Wellington Boots: Britain’s reliable friend by Anthony Kenny Wellies are a staple of British life and provide protection from the elements in our famously rainy climate. And like all Great British institutions they can trace their heritage back for centuries. The stalwart companion in time of war, in time of famine and in time of plenty, they are now a part of the very fabric of our lives worn by everyone from Paddington Bear to the Royal Family and everyone in between. And as such deserve our admiration and respect. Wellies are the original functional and practical footwear and have developed a long way from the calf skin leather design, introduced by the first Earl of Wellington to whom they owe their name. The humble

wellie has since seen service in both World Wars. In 'The Great War' as the trench boot it was much prized in the dreadful conditions experienced in the trenches that so characterised this war. And again in the Second World War the welly was there doing its bit, so to speak from the women in the Land Army to the soldiers in the front line wellington boots were an essential piece of kit. In the world of entertainment the welly has in no small way been there done that and bought the T shirt. They have featured in songs such as Billy Connolly's 'The Welly Boot Song'. And who could forget Gaelic Storm's seminal classic 'Bring Yer Wellies' from their no doubt artistically troubling and difficult 5th Album, a centrepiece to any serious music collection. Take a moment, I ask you, to think of the debt the world of comedy owes to the welly boot: Loveable Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket with his hilarious trade mark L and R wellies owes no small debt of gratitude to this utilitarian piece of footwear. Would Monty Python's legendary Gumbies been as funny wearing, say, slippers? Well yes they probably would but there can be no doubt wellies helped. Freddie Starr too made comedic use of the welly, pre hamster, with his groundbreaking 'Comedy Nazi ‘character. Drama too owes its own debt to the Wellington, can you imagine a 1970's low budget Sci Fi series without silver sprayed wellies playing an important supporting role? Radio 4's The Archers as you might expect is closely associated with the countryside status symbol of the green welly and the Archers Addicts fan club even has the green welly as its club badge. Other rural village entertainment has also been forever altered by wellington boots their popularity at village fates up and

down the country with welly throwing or welly wanging competitions standing as testament. Where apparently steel toecap willies are frowned upon as an unfair aid to performance! If you are doing a bit of gardening, the more usual habitat for wearing wellingtons, they will give your feet unrivalled water and mud protection for a whole range of horticultural tasks and if you have damaged or odd wellies they can be turned in to perfect planters to add fun and interest to your garden. If you look to the experts you will seldom see a farmer without a pair of wellies now will you? If questioned hand on heart can anyone truly say they could resist jumping in a puddle wearing their wellies? Wear thick socks and even an insole to keep your feet warm in winter and your wellies will keep your feet comfortable and dry all year round. In recent times the festival welly have created a niche of its own with people attending any summer outdoor festivals and, as a result, braving the great British summer to see their favourite band or even something more highbrow like classical concert or the opera you will find wellies in abundance. The ever versatile Wellington boot again showed its ability to evolve and continue to prove its worth. This new fashion led use has led to many exciting and colourful designs being created and even traditional manufacturers such as Hunter producing specific ranges, including accessories, for this brand new and burgeoning market. Many a celeb has been snapped in an equally snappy pair of wellies and with the introduction of the so called wedge wellie this epitome of practical footwear has gone full circle and become a complete fashion must have. So it is fair to say

that the humble welly boot has truly come of age and has at last been recognised as a great British icon alongside the umbrella, the Bowler hat, the woolly cardie and a reticence towards public shows of emotion. But don't put them on some sort of pedestal or give them pride of place, no, that would not be right, continue to throw them in the back of the cupboard or in the shed like always. They know their place in the footwear pecking order. Instead as you pull your wellies on, after bashing them together to clear out the spiders from inside and dried mud from the outside, just think about where we would be without this largely unassuming piece of footwear. We'd be colder and wetter for a start but also somehow less British. Yes other nations have their wellies or gumboots or whatever but no other nation embraces the 'carry on regardless' stoicism of the welly like we do. Whatever the job or wherever the situation the wellington boot is here to stay. Wear your wellies with pride and proclaim with a loud firm voice I love my wellies. About the Author

Another example: Gardening for Dummies - Choose a good gift for your gardener friend - by Alice C. Serrano

Gardening as a hobby has become very popular. Most of us have a friend or two who is into gardening. There can be no doubt that they would love to receive a gardening gift on their special occasion. You can choose from a wide range of gardening gift, irrespective of the fact that your friend is a novice or an expert gardener. The best part of giving a gardening gift is that you can buy one from almost anywhere: a nearby nursery, farmer's market, feed store, hardware store, online or even from your nearest WalMart. You can choose your gift according to the expertise level of your friend. A beginner would welcome a good gardening book with how to dos about gardening. Basic books will help them tackle the daily battles with weeds, insects and diseases. The books will also give them information regarding different types of plants and their soil, sun, nutrient and water needs. You can buy good books at a book store, a nursery or even online. If your friend is technically oriented you may even gift a gardening CD instead of a book. Another great gardening gift that even non-gardeners will love is a plant. It's a gift that is always welcome whether the person is an expert or novice gardener. You could buy traditional flowering plants or even go for unusual gifts like cacti or moss. A plant will always be appreciated and enjoyed. You could even gift seeds or even a bulb which can be then transplanted by your friend. If you opt for a perennial then your gift will bring joy year after year. You could get innovative by

giving theme gifts. Like some potted herb could be coupled with a bunch of recipes using that herb or a flowering plant that attracts butterflies and a couple of books on butterflies could go together nicely. You can think of more such innovative gifts. Garden tools. They are the most common and easily found gifts that you may buy for your friend. You could pick up simple tools like a hoe or a rake. Or maybe something high tech, like a vacuum or electric blower. These are a good gift for removing leaves, grass or debris from the sidewalks and driveway. You could also choose from sprinklers, hedge trimmers or gloves. A calendar is a useful gift that rarely crosses the mind. A gardener can use the calendar to observe the moon phases and if it is garden theme based calendar it adds to the pleasure. A Farmer's Almanac is another very useful gift that a gardener would love to have. It carries a lot of pertinent information regarding weather, moon phases, when to plant and when to prune. One of the best gifts that you can give them is a gift certificate from a nursery or a store that stocks gardening gifts. This way they can choose what they would like to have maybe a tool they don't have or a plant they had wanted. Nothing can beat the joy they will have in choosing exactly what they need or want. Giving a suitable gift is always an unsettling thought, but with gardener friends you need look no further. Gardening gifts are available easily and you can choose from a very wide range of products. You may choose from an inexpensive pair of gloves or may be a high end power tiller. So next time round look for appropriate gardening gifts, for your gardener friends with green thumbs.

Raising Capital It can always be a stumbling block for some people who find it difficult to get started. Thankfully most of the early stages of this plan will not break the bank but if you are struggling to raise funds for marketing here’s some things you can do to raise capital. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but the good old Car Boot sale can be a way to pull in some cash to help with your marketing costs – When were you last in your attic or for that matter the garage or garden shed? Clear them out and get some cash in. If that’s not for you, put some of you unwanted items up for sale in one of the free newspapers or investigate and get creative. ebay is fast becoming the world wide Car Boot sale so why not have a look at how that works to help you bring in some working capital.

Now, to get back to this Hungry Market... you can search the internet to get a good idea of the numbers of people ‘hungry’ for information on a certain product and there are a number of ‘list brokers’ too. These are companies that specialise in the gathering of names and addresses (and telephone numbers & email addresses) of people in a variety of categories. For example, Hilite Direct Marketing Services is one of the UK's leading independent List Managers and Brokers. You can find more information about Hilite at and this is where you’ll see a vast array of categories of people who have recently bought a certain product or service so you could, for example, get a list of 1000 names and addresses of people who have recently bought a health product – you could then send them a mail shot advertising your new health product or service? Another company is

There are other companies you can use to speed up your market research and I think you’ll agree, it’s quite a good way of finding your ‘hungry market’.

Public Domain Products I just wanted to touch on the subject of Public Domain products which I found fascinating. Of course you will find no end of information about this on the internet but my first experience of it was at Project Gutenberg is the first and largest single collection of free electronic books, or eBooks. Michael Hart, founder of Project Gutenberg, invented eBooks in 1971 and continues to inspire the creation of eBooks and related technologies today. Their books are free in the United States because their copyright has expired. They may not be free in other countries so readers outside of the United States must check the copyright laws of their countries before downloading or redistributing the ebooks but the bottom line is that you can acquire certain publications pre 1920, rebrand and redistribute them as your own This subject is worthy of further study if you are interested in it.

Now to Recap! So before you get started here are some bullet points.  Locate readymade products and in particular, Specialist Information DVD’s, CD’s, Audio Products, Digital and/or privately written specialist information manuals.  Choose one of these products and pay a modest fee for a non-exclusive licence to re brand & re sell the product.  Create your advertising material – website, sales letters, fliers etc.  Create your marketing plan.

 Sell your unique product.

You may not be aware by now that you can create your own duplicated DVD in a box wrapped in cellophane for around $1 or £1 and quite legitimately sell that for around £$47.00 and a 200 page manual in a ring binder or published using a self publishing house with a good quality cover can cost you around £$5.00 – you can sell that for something like £97.00 so you can start to see where the profits come from. It’s not the actual physical disc and packaging, it’s the value of the information contained within the documents and the value of the content that allows you to sell at a profit...

Compelling Sales Letters As part of your sales marketing you will need fabulous Sales Letters to temp your customers to your site or telephone or even address so I thought I’d copy a couple of examples here for you to see but first, this is the template for you to use for all of your letters…

Had enough… If you’ve been losing sleep worrying about your finances, hating your job and wondering why you can’t make any real money online then read on… I regularly make over a thousand dollars (£500) in just two days from eBay... ...and I don’t sell a single THING!

Dear Fellow Entrepreneur, My Ebay fees are virtually non-existent whenever I use this method. I have almost NO competition – most people don’t see the hidden money just waiting for them on Ebay, or if they do they keep very quiet about it. In fact most people probably know nothing about this system – this is a different way of working eBay. The ‘secret’ Ebay ID I use has feedback of less than 100, NO Power Seller status YET without having to use featured auctions, fancy ‘tools’ or any kind of expensive listing I can bring in thousands of Dollars in a very short time. I could use my own ID but I prefer to use a separate one.

Absolutely anyone can do this – ‘Newbie’ or Power Sellers alike, yet this is one of the LAST few genuinely ‘hidden money making methods’ left. It allows me to take holidays whenever I like, I earn a lot of money and best of all I don’t answer to anyone. That’s very important to me. I DON’T WANT to you to sell on eBay. Selling will not be your priority. Using the information in this book you’ll watch others do the selling then put this amazing system into action. · The best eBay sellers, and especially the Power Sellers are the ones who can make the most money for you. · You won’t have the hassle of fulfilling orders or handling abusive refund requests. You won’t worry about your products being pirated or stolen and nor do you have to worry about negative feedback. · Simply put, this method can allow you to just make money from eBay in a little known way that is hassle free and takes up just a few hours a week. · If you want to work from home, from the comfort of a warm PC while the rest of the world rushes round like mad ants then this could be where you start. · If you want a JOB, which is slowly draining what’s left of your life and making someone else rich then fine. I wish you well. So where’s the catch? There are two: 1. You’ll have to put some work in.

2. You may have to admit that you’ve wasted a lot of your life working for the wrong person. Now it’s time to start working for the right person – YOU. Introduction Hello and Welcome to this guide to Kunaki and may I take this opportunity to give you a brief background to my own personal experiences of sound recording. I’ve been around the block a few times and thought that I was pretty switched on to all the available recording devices but was quite amazed when I discovered the Kunaki experience. As a child I used to play around with an old Peto Scott reel to reel audio recorder. I guess you’d only see one of them now if you visited a specialist museum but my Dad gave it to me when I was about eight years old. I used to record conversations and the odd song by my Grandfather and I still have these reels of tape in a box somewhere in my attic. As I progressed into the age of cassette tape recorder I used to play my guitar and sing into the reel to reel, then play back the tape whilst recording and singing along into my cassette recording attempting to sing harmony with myself... However, to cut a long story short, I then moved on to a twin cassette deck and finally a Tascam mini studio, so you can imagine my surprise when I was introduced to both Audacity and Kunaki. Not only could I improve my recordings I could copy them, label them and duplicate in CD or DVD format and package them up in glossy labels wrapped with cellophane from the comfort of my home. I should here that previous to

being introduced to Kunaki, I had never saved anything to a disc let alone ‘burn’ files to a disc so this was brand new to me and if I can do it?...anyone can do it!

What is Kunaki?

You design and configure your own product (case, disc, inserts, cover art, contents) with Kunaki publishing software. The software renders a precise 3-D replica of your product and lets you modify and review different possibilities. The software compiles your product's content, packaging, art-work into a single digital file and uploads it to their facility. Then a seamless, automated system accepts orders; manufactures, prints, assembles, packages, wraps, and ships your product in minutes.

Now isn’t that fantastic!

The most recent project I have undertaken is to transfer my Grandad’s music from the old 78 rpm records to CD. Although my first attempts were not successful, I persevered and learnt through trial and error how do make this work so I thought it would be useful to share my experiences with you so you don’t have to waste as much time as I did in the beginning. Once I had dug out the old 78’s from my attic I found a local enthusiast who had the equipment to help me get started. It

was quite simple. He had an old record player with the specific ‘needle’ required to play a 78 and he recorded the music onto his computer through a microphone and then burnt it onto a disc for me. That was the part I had imagined to be the most difficult. However, he was happy to help and now I had the music in mp3 format. The next part took me some time as you need to log onto and create the text, titles and cover photographs etc and then you need to upload the files from your PC to the Kunaki system. The great thing about Kunaki is that it’s pretty fool proof and you can choose photographs from their stock library or upload one of you own. The cover photograph and text reappears on the disc too so you may have to try a few different images and text. Amazingly you can also click on the Jewel Case or DVD Case to rotate the box so you can see the spine, the inside and the back cover too. Once you are happy with the image and the files you must upload to Kunaki from your PC, from the master copy on CD, not from a saved file – it has to be from the CD. I tried a few times to master this but each time I left the system to upload, it stalled at 70%, the at 82% and I could not figure out why? Finally I realised that I had not formatted my original disc properly. I had opted for the Quick Format option instead of

the full format option – However, I finally realised my mistake and eventually my music was uploaded and saved to the system for the next step. At this stage it’s best to click the ‘test’ option since some distortion can occur during upload and once you are sure everything is working 100% you can click the ‘publish’ button. I was blown away when I realised that not only do Kunaki publish your product CD, they also give you a website that you can use to sell it using PayPal or Credit Card. Visitors to your site can view the CD including the rotate options and order it there and then. You can set the retail price of your CD and use the link on your own homepages too. I was so excited to receive a copy of my CD, I ordered one immediately and then realised yet another amazing fact about Kunaki – you don’t have to order and pay for your own copy, Kunaki will send you a FREE copy.

Here’s what I started with – photographs

And Now...

I went on to send some photographs to the Orkney Communities website and mentioned, in their discussion forum, the fact that I had now created a disc of Orkney music including the tunes my Grandad wrote. I included a photograph of the band members he played with.

This included a singer called Tom Bain who is standing in middle at the back and one of his relatives emailed me to ask if I could send her a copy of Tom singing...and so, below is my latest creation which I sold and made a profit!

This could turn into a full time business...?

Whilst investigating this business opportunity and experimenting with Kunaki, I have started work on another

project involving weight loss. I purchased the resale rights to a number of Hypnosis products and decided to focus on the weight loss and the reasons behind the weight gain in the first place. This product has evolved into Weightloss Plus which is a now combination of 6 hypnosis CDs addressing weight, stress and confidence management. Included in the package are a number of extra bonuses such as weight loss tips, low calorie recipes, lifestyle management and help and how to information for subscribers.

This project started off as data files saved to a CD but I soon realised that end users preferred to simply put the disc into a CD player as opposed to opening mp3 files on their PC. I therefore redeveloped this one disc into a six CD audio set.

Weightloss Plus

1. Introduction to Hypnosis 2. Weight Loss 3. Stress Busting 4. Confidence Boosting 5. Improved Study 6. Data Information

This is how it looked in the early stages –

This is simply three data files and some recipes saved to a CD and a stick on label printed from my PC attached to the disc using a plastic labeling tool that I bought for next to nothing in our local supermarket.

And now the finished set looks like this1 of 6

There’s still a lot to do with regards to product development and at one stage I thought the image above was my end product. However, this was not to be and as I shared this product with other business mentors, it became apparent that I had not yet fully thought it through.

The above is one of my 6 CDs in a Jewel Case and as you know these can be quite fragile – I bet you have some Cds at home somewhere with the cover held on with tape because the

hinges broke off years ago? Well, there’s a good point – so I have now replaced this with a more robust DVD case. It’s not only more robust but bigger and allows more space for marketing text and it does seem to have more of a Wow Factor and perceived value. So this is my next stage in product design...

....and I guess it will continue to evolve as I pick up new ideas and I should also mention that I designed these using the ‘autodesign’ feature within the Kunaki system but you can also use

their ‘custom design’ facility and import a variety of designs into your product.

Rather than try to reinvent the wheel, I thought I should include some of the text from the Kunaki website so you know exactly how it works.

How to use Kunaki

In the pages that follow I would like to give you everything you need to help you fully understand what you can do with Kunaki so let me start with a list of the Frequently Asked Questions.

Why would I be interested in this company’s service? Should you be interested in making a CD, for example, whether it’s one to store Data files or music or speech? You may want to make this available to others but don’t know how many to create and perhaps it’s too much of a financial stretch for you to order 1000 copies in the hope that you can sell them? This is the only alternative that I know of that allows you to order your copies one at a time for a very low price.

How is digital manufacturing different from traditional manufacturing? You design and configure your product (case, disc, inserts, cover art, contents) with Kunaki’s publishing software. The software renders a precise 3-D replica of your product and lets you modify and review different possibilities. The software compiles your product's content, packaging, art-work into a single digital file and uploads it to our facility. Then a seamless, automated system accepts orders; manufactures, prints, assembles, packages, wraps, and ships your product in minutes. Digital manufacturing eliminates setup costs, coordination, human error and most labour costs. This yields a constant low production cost for all quantity levels -- so you can order smaller quantities with minimal upfront and warehousing costs.

What are the benefits of digital CD /DVD manufacturing? 

You can order small quantities whenever you need them at the same low price. You don't incur risk, upfront costs, and inventory. We even ship you a free review copy. Your time to market is faster and easier. You can design, configure and manufacture in one day. You get retail quality, cellophane wrapped products with free UPC bar codes (more information about UPC bar codes is available in appendix 1). You can use our "publish at no cost to you" service (Details below). We can drop-ship directly to stores, and customers. Distributors can be restocked when needed. You can sell your products at CD Baby and Amazon (appendix 2) and Kunaki can manufacture and drop-ship inventory to these retail outlets. You can integrate our digital manufacturing system into your own process with our XML order entry system.

Your process sends Kunaki an order (name, address, and product id) in XML format and they manufacture and ship directly to the recipient. More information about our XML web service (appendix 3).

What is the "publish your CD/DVD product at no cost to you" service? 

The service lets you outsource: order acceptance, manufacturing, packing, shipping, and customer service. You set the retail price. Kunaki set up a sales page for your product; accept credit-card or PayPal orders on your behalf; manufacture and ship directly to your customers -on demand. The service integrates manufacturing, order-taking, packing, shipping, tracking, accounting, and customer service into one seamless, frictionless system that minimizes costs, errors and time. Kunaki provide you with real-time accounting data, customer names and addresses. You have two options to collect the sales proceeds: o Kunaki collect the sales proceeds on your behalf. Each month they send you a cheque for the quantity sold multiplied by your retail price minus the manufacturing cost and a 5 percent transaction fee. o The sales proceeds flow directly and instantly into your own PayPal account.

There are many ways to use Kunaki 

Order bulk quantities and have Kunaki drop ship to retailers, wholesalers, distributors or yourself. Many

publishers use Kunaki to drop ship to CD Baby and Amazon. Fulfil individual retail orders by entering the name and address in the Kunaki order form. Kunaki manufactures and ships your product within 24 hours. Kunaki also provides you with shipping tracking ids for all USA addresses. Use the Kunaki publish-at-no-cost-to-you service. Their automated factory accepts credit-card orders on your behalf. They manufacture and ship your product to your customers within minutes. They report sales with customer names/addresses to you and send you a cheque each month for an amount equal to the quantity sold multiplied by the price you set. The PayPal version of publish-at-no-cost-to-you service is identical to the regular publish-at-no-cost-to-you service but sales proceeds are credited to your PayPal account instantly after each sale. This allows you to fully control your product's revenue. Use the Kunaki multiple-recipients ordering system to manufacture and ship one or more products to a list of recipients with addresses. Use the Kunaki CSV spreadsheet tool to upload a list of recipients and addresses and have Kunaki manufacture and ship one or more products to a large list of recipients and addresses. Use Kunaki's XML ordering interface to integrate Kunaki's manufacturing and fulfilment service into your own system, store, or web site. Transmit order and fulfilment

requests directly to the factory using XML. Also use XML to get instant order status and shipping tracking ids. Use Kunaki's HTTP ordering interface to integrate Kunaki's manufacturing and fulfilment service into your own system, store, or web site. Transmit order and fulfilment requests directly to the factory using HTTP. Also use HTTP to get instant order status and shipping tracking ids. Set up a CD or DVD subscription service and periodically use the Kunaki CSV spreadsheet tool to upload subscriber names and addresses.

What is good about Kunaki? Kunaki probably offers the highest quality, lowest prices and fastest CD / DVD production in the world. As a result, they are probably the fastest growing CD / DVD manufacturer in the world. Kunaki's "publish at no cost to you" service yields much higher payouts to publishers and artists than any other channel. What is bad about Kunaki? Kunaki is not for everyone. Kunaki operates more like a machine than a business and does not offer a personalised service. They don't engage in active marketing, sales, or public relations. They never offer discounts or special deals. They don't offer affiliate or partner programs. The Kunaki machine is operated and managed by software rather than a management team.

Our service is designed for 21st-century, intelligent, independent publishers who prefer to deal with a cold, efficient, and reliable machine that is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Because Kunaki is highly automated and focused on quality, low price, and fast production, they offer a minimal range of options. How long has Kunaki been in business? Kunaki has been operating since July, 2005. Their prices are stable. From July, 2005 until December 31, 2007 the price was $1.60/unit. Since January 1, 2008 the price is $1.75/unit. On November 1, 2009 they reduced the price for 10 units or less to $1.00. How long does Kunaki archive my CD/DVD product? Kunaki deletes CD /DVD products if there are zero sales in a 180 day period. You can keep your product archived by purchasing at least one unit every 180 days. Does your software work with Macs? No. Their software requires a PC, but you can use your favourite Mac or PC software to design disc, case, insert graphic files. What is the quality of the manufactured product?

CDs and DVDs manufactured in their facility look and feel as good or better than similar products found in retail outlets. They print digitally in full colour directly on the disc surface, and case inserts and covers. They don't use peel-able labels or inkjet printers. Their cases are sealed with cellophane over-wrap.

Do I retain copyright to my product? Yes, you retain full copyright to your product. More information about registering your copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office is available (appendix 4). Does Kunaki offer their manufacturing and fulfilment service as an XML web service? Yes, you can integrate the manufacturing and fulfilment service directly into your own application. Does Kunaki offer volume discounts for large orders? No. Kunaki does not offer discounts and does not negotiate special deals. Kunaki does not respond to "requests for a quote" and does not bid on jobs.

Well, I hope that answered most of your questions.

Now, I imagine your next burning question is going to be about price. The quick and easy answer to that is if you’re ordering between 1 and 10 CD’s it’ll cost you only $1 to get the disc + $4 to ship it to the UK, so $5 for a CD as described earlier is a snip when you consider the % mark up you can apply to that should you wish to resell the product. Here’s the more detailed information for you. Enter quantity and destination to compute an invoice with shipping options, shipping prices and estimated shipping transit times.

Appendix 1 UPC bar code The Kunaki CD / DVD publishing software can add a Kunaki UPC bar code to your product. There is no fee for the bar code. You can add your own bar code or not use a bar code. Many retail outlets, like and CD Baby, require a UPC bar code. Please note the following regarding the Kunaki bar code: 

If you select to use a Kunaki UPC bar code, the Kunaki software will place the bar code automatically on the bottom, right hand side of the back of the jewel or DVD case. You cannot change the location of the bar code. The publishing software shows you where the bar code is placed on your case. You cannot add a Kunaki bar code for an existing published product. You will have to create a new product. You cannot transfer an existing bar code to a new product. Each product is issued a new bar code with a unique UPC number. You cannot use a Kunaki bar code for

products not manufactured by Kunaki. If you use your own UPC bar code you will need to embed your own bar code into your package design.

XML Web Service for CD / DVD Manufacturing and Fulfilment The XML Web service is an alternative to the product sales pages and allows distributers and publishers to send CD / DVD manufacturing and fulfilment orders to our manufacturing and fulfilment facility. The XML service is for customers with significant order flows and ability to accept credit card orders and handle customer service. Kunaki provide you with a real time accounting system that details each order with product id, quantity, date, and recipient with address.

All XML orders are designated as pending until payment is made. You can login to your Kunaki account and pay for all pending orders with your credit card or with PayPal. Once payment is made your pending orders are processed and shipped. You can also fund your account by prepaying with a credit card and if there is a sufficient balance in your account subsequent orders will be processed and shipped immediately. The price is $1.00/unit plus the shipping costs for orders of 10 units or less to the same address. There are no minimums and no setup fees. We do not offer quantity discounts, sales commissions, or special arrangements. You do not require special permission or special software to use our XML web service. If you understand how to send XML requests over the internet you can start today.

There are three types of requests you can make: 

Retrieve a list of shipping options for a particular order and address. You send a list of products with quantities, country, state, and zip code. The service will respond with a list of shipping options, estimated delivery times, and shipping costs for the order.

Send an order to manufacture and fulfil. You send the name of the recipient and address, the desired shipping mode, the product ids and quantities. The service will respond with an order id. Retrieve the order status for an order id. You send an order id and the service will respond with an order status that lets you track the order. If the order is shipped with UPS or FedEx you also receive a shipping tracking number. The XML service cannot be used to publish new titles. It is only used to send manufacture/fulfil requests to Kunaki. Appendix 4
