Colorado politicians want to join Walker’s Whackos Some 26 members of the Colorado House of Representatives want to join the gang of rightwing anti-worker whackos led by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker who is at the forefront of a national assault on the nations’ middle class. A bill (HB 1320) that would prohibit collective bargaining by state employeeswas introduced Monday in the Colorado House of Representatives by the 26 Republican representatives. The bill will likely passthe House and be defeated in the Senate. HB 1320 had not been assigned to a committee on Wednesday. It will soon be assigned, probably to the Economic and BusinessDevelopment Committee where it will likely pass. The bill stands a good chance of being passed by the full House where Republicans have control by a single vote. However, Democrats control the Senate by five votes where the bill has little or no chance of passing. Local 435 urges Teamster members who live in districts represented by Republicans to contact their legislators and urge them to vote no on HB 1320.
