Bath man charged in overdose Steuben Courier BATH - A Bath man and alleged drug dealer has been charged with multiple drug charges for allegedly selling a man a deadly opioid mixture who then died due to an over-
dose, according to the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office. The DA’s office said Bath resident Matthew Taft, 37, allegedly sold a mixture of fentanyl and heroin to Joshua Rowe on August 26, 2017 in the Village of Bath.
According to the DA’s office, Rowe overdosed on the drugs. The office said Taft is alleged to have “recklessly” caused Rowe’s death for allegedly failing to take any actions or precautions to aid him when he overdosed. The DA’s office said Taft alleg-

BATH — Steuben County plans to move forward in the coming weeks with the construction of an additional cell in the county landfill. However, county officials said there are still major details that need to be worked out. The county still needs to determine which direction to construct Cell 4 of the county landfill in relation to the current facility, according to county public works commissioner Vince Spagnoletti. “We’re dealing with property owners to determine first which way we’re going to go on that,” he said.
