Doherty Campaign Calls on Cicilline to Return Contributions Made by Executives of Outsourcing Firms EAST PROVIDENCE (July 18, 2012) – The Doherty for Congress Campaign today called on Congressman Cicilline to return all campaign contributions made by executives of outsourcing firms. “Congressman Cicilline has taken every opportunity to convince people that he is some kind of champion for keeping jobs in America,” said Doherty’s Campaign Manager Ian Prior. “On Monday he attempted to further that message by politicizing the Olympics and just the other day he criticized Presidential candidate Mitt Romney for his role at Bain Capital, a firm that engages in outsourcing strategies. He is trying to convince Rhode Islanders that he is against outsourcing, yet he profits by it. On June 27, 2011 he accepted $5,000 from a high level Bain executive and his wife, and on May 11, 2012 he took a $1,500 contribution from an executive at RR Donnelly, a ‘global outsourcing’ film.” On July 16, 2012, WPRO’s website reported that Cicilline was joining the attack on Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney for his role in Bain’s “strategy [of] outsourcing American jobs. Also on that day, Cicilline held a press conference in Woonsocket where, two weeks before the Olympics, he called for the United States team uniforms to be manufactured in the United States. Prior continued: “this is just another example of Congressman Cicilline’s ‘do as I say, not as I do’ pattern. Whether it is taxing high tech manufacturers in Rhode Island or accepting money from high level executives at outsources, it is clear that Congressman Cicilline is not all that concerned with creating an economic environment where Rhode Islanders can find jobs. Rather, he just wants to appear that way. This is, unfortunately, what the First District has come to expect from him. This is precisely why new leadership is necessary to bring Rhode Island back to prominence.” ***

Doherty Enjoys a Cookout Rally in Slater Memorial Park with the Pawtucket Community, While Cicilline “Wines and Dines with the Wealthy” EAST PROVIDENCE (August 12, 2012) – The Doherty for Congress Campaign decided to hold a free cookout rally to the community of Pawtucket in support of Brendan Doherty Candidacy for Congress. A family event is what Doherty plans on having for the following weekend and with the help of the volunteer committee the event should be nothing more then a success. Also special guest Miss Rhode Island 2012 Kelsey Fournier, former cheerleading captain for the New England Patriots, plans on stopping by for the family festivities. Doherty plans on bringing together the community of Pawtucket and getting to know each individual that he possibly can connect with. While this event is to occur, Cicilline is showing his true colors at a time when he hopes no one is paying attention with his “2nd Annual Newport Summer Weekend” where a $2500 donation will allow the wealthy to spend the whole weekend wining and dining with the Congressman. Prior added: “Congressman Cicilline continues to mislead voters by saying one thing and doing another. Cicilline claims to fight for the middle class, but ends up holding a weekend extravaganza that only the wealthy can attend. He expressed that he will stand up for our seniors, yet nothing is being done as the government shifts $500 billion from Medicare to the Affordable Care Act. It’s time Congressman Cicilline stops worrying about the fundraising aspect of his campaign than focusing on the middle class voters by being honest with them.” “Brendan Doherty is the only person in this race that is not a millionaire. He is the only person in this race that has faced the same type of challenges that middle class families face every day in Rhode Island. He is the only person that will not be swayed by special interests, lobbyists, and the corrupted culture of Washington, D.C. And Brendan Doherty is the only person that has a record of integrity, leadership, and the willingness to represent the interests of all Rhode Islanders, whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent.” ***
