We all love beef, whether it be in our pastures or on our plates! The beef cookoff contest was focused on the tri-tip this year with a western theme for the skits and presentations to go along with the Jr. Nationals theme, Shorthorns and Spurs. All of the states that participated (some with multiple teams) brought a whole new level of competition with their decorations and costumes this year. Piper Cates even managed to grow a thick mustache! I thoroughly enjoyed watching each team compete, but at the end of the day the judges named a top five. I am already excited to select the cut for next year’s contest and we will announce it as soon as it is decided!
