AC Engineer (2 positions available) VCP-AFR-002 Eastern Cape - Port Elizabeth Permanent Eastern Cape Regional ACC Manager 29 November 2010 Internal: 6 December 2010; External: 10 December 2010 Main Duties • Improving the performance of physical assets through the delivery of the ACC Service. • To assist ACC clients to continuously improve the performance of their assets through the implementation of world class asset management best practices, processes, systems and techniques; transferring knowledge and skills, and building the internal capability of our ACC’s to implement and sustain asset management improvement initiatives that will deliver bottom-line results at our clients. • The main responsibility of the AC Engineer is to deliver value to our clients through sustainable change based on increased asset management maturity in the relevant AMIP key performance areas. Skills (Ability/Talent) • Excellent interpersonal skills and good customer relations. • Excellent communication i.e. ability to communicate effectively (written, presentation, meetings). • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English – however proficiency in English is a pre-requisite) • Facilitation skills Knowledge (learning/comprehension) • Sound knowledge of the Methodology, Business Processes and Technology used by Pragma • KPI identification, report development out of databases • Knowledge of continuous improvement and problem solving • Knowledge of ergonomics work and time studies • Asset Management Improvement Program (AMIP) growth model facilitation • Standard asset management KPIs (definitions, use) • Pragma problem solving/CI method (CI techniques like brainstorming, 6M and 5 Why) • On Key (basic modules or other client specific CMMS) • Must be able to map and re-engineer business processes • Optimum Maintenance Mix (OMM)/RCM process • Knowledge of TPM • Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and programmes • Intermediate computer literacy in MS-Office Attributes (trait/characteristic) • Punctual and good attendance (own reliable transport is essential). • Vibrant and confident • Analytical and inquisitive • Goal-orientated • Must be able to work under pressure, be proactive to solve problems faced with in line of duty. • Must be professional • Must be able to work under pressure and be proactive to solve problems. Qualification • Relevant tertiary qualification (preferably: B.Eng / B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) Experience • For internal applicants: Minimum 1 year as an AC Engineer in the ACC@Pragma • 1 year relevant working experience. Preference will be given to suitable internal candidates in line with company policies, as well as applicants with engineering experience.
