Uniting Communities to BUILD A HOME FOR HEROES Lace up your shoes with Bergen County’s United Way, PSEG, Port Authority, and the aviation community at the oldest operating airport in the metro area for the 21st Annual Teterboro Airport 5K, benefitting A Home for Heroes, building safe affordable housing for local military families. Everyone deserves a place to call home. But for the estimated 3,000 homeless veteran’s in New Jersey, the idea of a home can feel far out of reach. Veteran Men and Women in New Jersey have given selflessly to serve our country. Now they need YOU! Join nearly 1,000 military and civilian runners, spectators and volunteers on the runway and give at-risk and homeless veterans a place to call home.
“Anyone who has served our country should never be without a roof over their head,” said Richard Donde, Vietnam Army Veteran. “Providing housing and coordinated services for veterans should be a priority for all of us.”

Flight Crew Team Rules Team Size: A minimum of three runners are required to create a team. There is no maximum number of runners that make up your flight crew! Team Captains: Each team must have a team captain, responsible for registering team members and rallying support for fundraising teams. As an underwriter, you will get the same tax deduction ability as writing a check to Bergen County’s United Way, but you pay the vendor directly, keeping all donor dollars intact! Example: You want to help underwrite the cost of all printing material used at the event. You would get an invoice from the vendor for the amount of the printing and pay them directly.
