NEWSLETTER This is our first stakeholder newsletter. Please share it with anyone you think would be interested in the project and if you know someone who would like to be added to our distribution list email their details to info@niconsortium.org Thank you to everyone who responded to our communications survey when we asked how you would like to be kept up-to-date with our latest news. In response to your comments we will aim to get this e-newsletter to you every six weeks until we are established and then every couple of months we will let you know what we are up to. If you have news you would like to share or something specific you would like to see about Step Forward Tees Valley do get in touch.

At the back of this newsletter we have included details of the management team and navigation teams. Hopefully you will find these useful.

Building your skills for a brighter future

Our first few months: It’s been a hectic few months but everyone has worked really hard to ensure we can welcome our first participants in December: 

Thanks to a huge recruitment drive, we have specialist health workers, employer engagement workers, a volunteer and peer mentor co-ordinator and a co-production worker in post and most specialist partners have recruited personnel

Navigator teams have moved into their delivery sites which are in some great locations that are encouraging networking. Another recruitment drive for navigators will take place in the New Year

Launch events – these are taking place across the region and have proved to be a great way to let communities know about the programme

Stakeholder engagement – a raft of activity is ongoing to secure support from a wider range of stakeholders. Stakeholders are overwhelmingly supportive and are opening up some fantastic opportunities for our participants

Our website www.sfteesvalley.co.uk has been launched with lots of useful information for participants. As time goes on we hope to share some of their stories on line to inspire others to join the programme

We are working on a brochure to showcase our partners’ work to those participants who do not have internet access and to other organisations interested in the project

It’s been really great to meet with you all and to look at each partner’s offer. We have more to do, it’s like piecing together a jigsaw, but what a really great model we have that will benefit so many. As systems and processes are developed we will keep you posted. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Building your skills for a brighter future

Communications We have been busy spreading the word about the project. The people we want to participate are typically hard to reach so any help you can offer in getting the word out would be great. We have twitter (@sfteesvalley) and Facebook accounts (/stepforwardteesvalley) as well as a website www.sfteesvalley.co.uk. Please like us and share our posts so we can engage with as many people as possible. Promotional leaflets, banners, team business cards and posters have been printed. Thank you to everyone who stood in as models for our photo shoot – you were all great sports and we got some great shots. The printed material only has a short shelf life because, as people come onto the programme, we would like to feature them and their stories to encourage more participants. One of the tasks of the co-production worker will be to develop messages and literature with participants, the programme will develop and be guided by participants’ experiences. Programme manager Helen appeared twice in The Northern Echo talking passionately about the project and we also featured in the November edition of One Darlington magazine (there are links to both on our website). Features are lined up for ‘This is Redcar & Cleveland’, ’Now & Then’ and other publications so keep an eye out for us! If you have any suggestions or need any communications support around the project please call or email Hayley Jones (details below).
