ISDs are more open to advertisement than others, leading to inequitable access and pockets of deficit in education across the Houston area. To potentially alleviate some of these issues, the STEM·E YCDP, with the help of some brave high school students, has initiated the Ambassador Program.           The STEM·E Ambassador Program brings the YCDP directly into schools, run by teachers and students, to help educate their own school.  The Ambassador Program allows students to not only ensure that their classmates are aware of all STEM and Entrepeneurship opportunities in Houston, but it also provides a platform for students to develop and establish any STEM- or Business-related program, workshop, or club that does not currently exist in their school.  Thus, students use the program to fulfill gaps in education that meet their passion and their needs as they see fit.  It's a brand new take on an old format that utilizes students to build their own future!           For more information on the Ambassador Program and to find out how you can participate, visit: www.TutoringWithAndria.com/ambassador-program. UNIV. OF HOUSTON SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR, CERAWEEK, & WOMEN'S INITIATIVE LUNCHEON

hese past two weeks, the STEM·E Youth               T          Career Development Program  has been advertising and spreading the word of enhancing STEM and Entrepreneurship education in Houston at various events throughout the city.  The University of Houston Science & Engineering Fair was gracious enough to allow  us to set up a booth and meet with students to introduce the program.  We also had a wonderful opportunity of meeting various professionals in STEM and STEM education.  The hope is that these events enhance awareness and  STEM·E Update | Vol. 01 | Issue 02 |  04

stimulate discussions on the education gap within Houston. Only then can we brainstorm solutions and improve education.               STEM·E YCDP also had the wonderful opportunity of participating in CERAWeek, a powerful conference for professionals in the Energy sector..  During this time, YCDP received some wonderful exposure to high-profile professionals, including CEOs, CTOs, and various STEM and energy-related companies., many remarking their interest in participating and desire to support the

program through speaking or spreading the word.            Finally, as a program that enhances inclusion and diversity, STEM·E YCDP participated in Johson & Johson's Women's Initiative luncheon to network and discuss enhancing women in STEM and business leadership positions.  The panel of powerful, inspiring women and participation of other women in the field left a critical impression on the audience of the importance of gender equality in business and STEM..  The STEM·E YCDP looks forward to helping build these changes in Houston!
