Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda-line from 1967 remains the heart of Stelton’s design DNA.

Arne Jacobsen Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) is one of Denmark’s most highly renowned architects and designers, revered both at home and abroad. Known for his astounding curiosity, originality and creativity, Arne Jacobsen played an important role in modernism and Danish design history, and present-day designers are still highly influenced by his works. Arne Jacobsen had an extraordinary understanding of proportion, which he applied to his designs. With a keen eye for detail, he undertook architectural projects that included all aspects of interior design, creating visionary and fully coherent concepts. Most of his famous furniture designs, such as the Ant, the Swan, the No. 7 chair and his lamp designs, were originally created for architectural projects. Arne Jacobsen designed the awardwinning Cylinda-line cocktail and tableware series for Stelton in 1967, which became the essence of Stelton’s design DNA. The iconic minimalist, cylindrical design made of stainless steel has become a timeless classic. The cocktail and tableware series look striking on the dining table or as home décor. Cylinda-line is un affected by the passage of time. · 11 ·

Cylinda-line was awarded the ID prize 1967 by the Danish Society of Industrial Design and the International Design Award 1968 by the American Institute of Interior Designers.

EM77 is available in two sizes: 1 L and 0.5 L. EM77 is also available as a French press coffee maker and a matching tea strainer for tea lovers. See all colours on page 53.

Erik Magnussen created the timeless EM77 vacuum jug with its unique rocker stopper back in 1977. It is still as fashionable and iconic today as it ever was, which proves that it represents design at its very best.

· 14 ·

Erik Magnussen Erik Magnussen (1940–2014) was one of Denmark’s most accomplished designers. Educated as a ceramist at the School of Applied Arts and Design, he graduated with a silver medal in 1960. For several years, he worked for porcelain manufacturers Bing & Grøndahl and designed furniture for Fritz Hansen and Engelbrechts. Erik Magnussen was an acclaimed designer. A great design, in his opinion, emerged when the senses were used intensively. He would work on a design until function, innovation, production technology, price, environmental considerations and aesthetics had been balanced. He thought that Nordic design was unique in the sense that the prototype was usually made in a workshop instead of having a merely visual design concept. He believed that craftsmanship was essential in order to create designs that were functional, beautiful and practical all at the same time. His designs for Stelton are part of the brand’s core design DNA, combining perfect form with perfect functionality. The EM77 has become something of an icon in Danish households, as it is easily recognisable and highly unique. Erik Magnussen’s designs are exhibited in museums worldwide. Among many awards, Erik Magnussen received the Lunning Prize 1967 and the Furniture Prize 1977. In 1983, he was named Designer of the Year by the Danish Design Council.

· 15 ·

EM77 has received three highly coveted awards: the Danish Design award 2007 for most classic product, iF design award 1992 and ID award 1977.

The classic EM77 jug is still one of Stelton’s best-selling designs. The vacuum jug’s patented tilting lid enables it to be used with just one hand. It also features a handy screw cap, making it ideal for use on the move. See all colours on page 53. · 17 ·

The Italian design duo Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri created the Collar collection with coffee aficionados in mind. The Collar collection features an espresso maker, a coffee grinder with jar, a milk jug and a sugar bowl.

· 18 ·

Daniel Debiasi & Federico Sandri Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri founded their own design studio, Something, in 2010. They work within various fields of design. Objects are never considered in isolation but as part of a bigger picture. A continuous dialogue encouraged by spatial, cultural and behavioural observations leads the Italian design duo to create beautiful design objects.

· 19 ·

The classic Italian stove-top espresso maker, also known as a Moka pot, is the ultimate tool for creating a professional, full-bodied brew at home.

Collar is created to rediscover the ritual and culture of coffee brewing with a Scandinavian design aesthetic.

· 21 ·

East meets West in the Theo collection by Francis Cayouette. The designer merges the best from the Asian culture with Danish design, creating a range that is graphic, tactile and full of contrasts.

· 22 ·

Canadian designer Francis Cayouette (born 1969) trained in Montreal and Paris, and founded Unit10 design in Copenhagen in 1999. He works in collaboration with Scandinavian and international companies on product innovation and development for both large-scale and

small-series production runs. His design is characterised by a strong empathy for daily life, with a feel for the industrial and functional aspects of design. Francis has designed many different products, from home accessories to clever storage units to elegant lifestyle products.

The award-winning Theo products have been designed to stimulate the senses. Theo invites you to enjoy a moment of calm with your favourite tea or coffee.

Made of matte black Scandinavian stoneware with cast-iron finish and smooth Asian bamboo, the Theo collection will awaken your senses. Theo includes a teapot, a teapot warmer, tea mugs, a sugar bowl, a milk jug, mini bowls, a bamboo tray, a slow-brew coffee maker and a French press coffee maker. · 24 ·

Enjoy hot or cold drinks on the move without spilling them. Perfect for your favourite drinks on the go, whether you are simply going to the office or travelling. The To Go Click has smartclick functionality to open and close the cup easily. Drink from all 360 degrees around the cup as if there was no lid on.

The Emma collection by HolmbäckNordentoft is characterised by its clean, modern lines and innovative combinations of materials such as steel, wood and stoneware.

The tea vacuum jug has a smart integrated tea filter—with a single twist of the tea jug’s lid, the tea will stop brewing, meaning that your tea will never taste stewed again!

ABOVE: The Emma collection in blue. RIGHT: Emma electric kettle in blue and grey. · 28 ·

Stelton’s award-winning Emma tea and coffee collection has been expanded with a stunning electric kettle in the same design. The Emma electric kettle is simple and elegant, and looks perfect on the table. The electric kettle is available in blue, grey and black.

· 29 ·

With a broad appeal and excellent functionality, the Emma collection has won several design awards. Since its launch in 2013, Emma has become a new modern design classic when it comes to afternoon tea. It makes everyday life more beautiful, with its enticing tea and coffee vacuum jugs, mugs, breakfast bowls, sugar bowl and milk jug in matching delicate hues of blue and grey. See full Emma collection on page 58–59.

· 30 ·

The Emma collection has won several design awards, including the iF Product Design Award 2014 and the Red Dot Design Award 2014, and was in 2015 given a special mention at the German Design Award.

MAYA & MAYA 2000 Maya is an outstanding range of cutlery designed by Tias Eckhoff and comes in two versions. Maya dates back to 1962 and is one of the Phaidon Design Classics. Among the best designs in the world, it is exhibited in some of the best-known museums worldwide, including the MoMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Maya 2000 shares similarities with the original Maya design, but is longer and slimmer, so that its triangular form appears more streamlined and complements even the most modern table setting. Tias Eckhoff is one of Norway’s most versatile designers and a pioneer within industrial design. He has been instrumental in making Scandinavian design famous worldwide.

· 35 ·

Stelton’s popular Pure Black range has won several international design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award—Best of the Best 2011, Formland Design Award 2011, and Accent on Design Award 2011.

· 36 ·

The graphic expression of the Pure White magnetic knife holder is the perfect foil for Pure Black knives. Pure Black is known for its sparing, stylish look and high functionality. Forged from a single piece of stainless steel, the handle of the knife morphs seamlessly into the blade. The matte black coating provides superb grip and good hygiene.

The Scoop canisters features a specially designed measuring scoop, which is an integral part of the lid design. Scoop has a spoon at hand when you need one!

Scoop coffee and tea canisters designed by Søren Refsgaard are elegant and practical storage solutions made of stainless steel and featuring rubber wood. The Freja pitcher designed by Klaus Rath is a contemporary take on the traditional Danish steel pitchers of the 1950s. The basketweave handle made from sun-dried bast contrasts with the stainless steel pitcher and will develop a patina and become even more attractive over time.

· 38 ·

Time is a complex phenomenon, but your clock does not have to be. This sculptural wall clock from Stelton is designed by the German duo Jehs+Laub. The unique, graphic look and the absence of a traditional clock casing create the illusion that the clock is floating in the air. The clock’s minute hand forms the clock’s face and casts an architectural shadow on the wall. Stelton Time is available in black, grey, white and orange.

· 39 ·

Stelton’s bar accessories go back to the company’s roots and our design philosophy. Timeless and classic steel tools that are still just as comfortable, functional and beautiful to use today.

The STOCKHOLM collection designed by Bernadotte & Kylberg is inspired by the Nordic landscape and design tradition. A collection of centrepieces rooted in Scandinavia’s minimalism with artistic design values.

· 42 ·

By combining eloquent graphics with the soft organic shapes of the vases and bowls, Bernadotte & Kylberg have designed centrepieces with a timeless quality; a collection of artworks that evokes emotions and enriches life.

“We tried to channel the bold character of the surrounding sea into our design. By working with Indian ink on wet watercolour paper, we managed to bring out both the serenity and dramatic expression of the sea.” Bernadotte & Kylberg.

· 44 ·

The creative agency Bernadotte & Kylberg, established in 2012 by Carl Philip Bernadotte (born 1979) and Oscar Kylberg (born 1972), has created designs for a range of well-known Swedish home interior design and fashion brands. The design philosophy of the Swedish duo is to create iconic and inspiring designs that are made to last. The Stockholm Aquatic collection perfectly captures both the serenity and dramatic expression of the Baltic Sea and the Stockholm archipelago. Combining eloquent graphics with the soft organic shapes of the vases and bowls, Stockholm is a collection of artworks that evokes emotions and enriches life.

REFLECTION CANDLEHOLDER Available in two complementing heights, the Reflection candleholders create a sea of light when several candleholders are clustered together. Both sizes are available in black, copper, brass or mirror finish.

ABOVE: Reflection candleholders. Collar coffee container for coffee grinder. Peak bonbonniere. RIGHT: Naked candleholder. EM77 in pine green. · 46 ·

The Naked candleholder is inspired by the cropped, naked trees of winter. Just like the tree whose roots have grown deep over the decades, the cast iron adds weight to the candlestick’s strong profile. The graphic lines follow the tree’s silhouette and cast long, beautiful shadows across the table. Naked is a tribute to the often harsh Nordic climate.
