Norman Foster is Executive Chairman and Founder of Foster + Partners, one of the most influential architectural design firms shaping cities across the world, known for projects such as Reichstag: New German Parliament, The Great Court at the British Museum and the Millau Viaduct. His designs for the new Stelton range bring together simple sculptural form and soft geometry, to create exceptionally crafted tableware for a wide range of settings. From wine carafes to espresso cups, each object is a response to its specific function, while embodying a shared language.

The range has an eclectic approach to materiality. From an understated, yet refined set of stainless steel tableware, featuring wine goblets, carafe, bowls, and tray for the evening, to a more informal range of porcelain and glass coffee cups, sugar bowl, thermos and water carafe, the objects are designed for a wide range of settings and purposes.

Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) is one of Denmark’s most highly renowned architects and designers, revered both at home and abroad. Known for his astounding curiosity, originality and creativity, Arne Jacobsen played an important role in modernism and Danish design history, and present-day designers are still highly influenced by his works. Arne Jacobsen had an extraordinary understanding of proportion, which he applied to his designs. With a keen eye for detail, he undertook architectural projects that included all aspects of interior design, creating visionary and fully coherent concepts. Most of his famous furniture designs, such as the Ant, the Swan, the No. 7 chair and his lamp designs, were originally created for architectural projects. Arne Jacobsen designed the award-winning Cylinda-line cocktail and tableware series for Stelton in 1967, which became the essence of Stelton’s design DNA. Its minimalist, cylindrical stainless steel design is still synonymous with sophistication. The cocktail and tableware series make any table or bar look striking. Cylinda-line remains untouched by the passing of time.

An iconic design

Erik Magnussen (1940–2014) was one of Denmark’s most accomplished designers. Educated as a ceramist at the School of Applied Arts and Design, he graduated with a silver medal in 1960. For several years, he worked for porcelain and furniture manufacturers. Erik Magnussen was an acclaimed designer. A great design, in his opinion, emerged when the senses were used intensively. He would work on a design until function, innovation, production technology, price, environmental considerations and aesthetics had been balanced. He thought that Nordic design was unique in the sense that the prototype was usually made in a workshop instead of having a merely visual design concept. He believed that craftsmanship was essential in order to create designs that were functional, beautiful and practical all at the same time. The EM77 has become something of an icon in Danish households and around the world, as it is easily recognisable and highly unique. The vacuum jug’s patented tilting lid enables it to be used with just one hand. It also features a handy screw cap, making it ideal for use on the move. See all colours on page 50. · 14 ·

Preserve tea at its best. The well-known shape of the EM77 now conceals a new functionality – a press tea maker that stops the brewing in the jug. Green, black or white? Weak or strong? The tea stays hot for hours and just the way you like it. · 15 ·

STOCKHOLM

· 16 ·

The ever-changing seascape of the Stockholm archipelago and the Baltic Sea is an infinite source of inspiration for the artistic expression of the Stockholm collection. Its aquatic blue colour palette is seen in both of its designs: Aquatic and Horizon. · 17 ·

The round shape of the tray invites closeness, and the pattern invites relaxation and a chance to rest your eyes on something beautiful. Be it cheese, pastries, a pie or a cake – anything to your pleasing can be served on the tray. · 18 ·

The creative agency Bernadotte & Kylberg, established in 2012 by Carl Philip Bernadotte (born 1979) and Oscar Kylberg (born 1972), has created designs for a range of well-known home interior design and fashion brands. The design philosophy of the Swedish duo is to create iconic and inspiring designs that are made to last. The Stockholm Aquatic collection perfectly captures both the serenity and dramatic expression of the Baltic Sea and the Stockholm archipelago. Combining eloquent graphics with the soft organic shapes of the vases and bowls, Stockholm is a collection of artworks that evokes emotions and enriches life.

HOOP Flowers on their own can be captivating, but they stand out even more when displayed in the right vase.

Hoop is an elegant new vase collection in mouth-blown, midnight blue glass. There are three sizes to suit different bouquets; placing two or more vases together creates a lush, harmonious atmosphere. Take a large palm leaf for a striking look, or bring your garden flowers inside. Hoop is designed by Unit 10 as a joint project between Anne Marie Raaschou-Nielsen and Francis C ayouette. · 21 ·

THEO

Canadian designer Francis Cayouette (born 1969) was trained in Montreal and Paris and founded Unit 10 design studio in Copenhagen in 1999. He works in collaboration with Scandinavian and international companies on product innovation and deve lopment. His design is characterised by a strong empathy for daily life, with a feel for the industrial and functional aspects of design. Francis has designed many different products, from home accessories to clever storage units to elegant lifestyle products. · 22 ·

Made from matt black stoneware and smooth Asian bamboo, the Theo collection will awaken your senses.

· 23 ·

COLLAR

If you only want one cup of tea, the stylish new Collar tea infuser is the ideal tool.

Good news for tea lovers as we expand the Collar series with an elegant teapot in black stoneware. The Collar collection has a remarkable silhouette, imbued with a touch of Scandinavian design. The teapot complements our Collar coffee and bar tools, designed for gourmands and connoisseurs. · 24 ·

Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri founded their design studio in 2010. They work within various fields of design. Objects are never considered in isolation but as part of a bigger picture. A continuous dialogue encouraged by cultural and behavioral observations leads the Italian design duo to create beautiful design objects.

For the coffee lover, nothing is more important than flavour. With Collar, you can be in charge of the whole process, experiment and carefully choose the ingredients. Start by grinding your favourite beans in the Collar grinder and enjoy the rich, tempting aromas. · 25 ·

EMMA

The Emma collection by HolmbäckNordentoft is characterised by its clean, modern lines and innovative combinations of materials such as steel, wood and stoneware. Make everyday life beautiful with the Emma collection – Emma’s organic shapes and delicate tone-on-tone colours have made the range a new design classic. · 26 ·

The new nude and terracotta colour range beautifully matches the Emma series’ grey hues, looking perfect on any table.

See the full Emma collection on page 56 or on www.stelton.com

· 27 ·

UNIFIED

Maria Berntsen graduated as an architect from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, and has studied in France at l’Ecole d’Architecture de Bordeaux. She has been teaching at the Danish Design School. Since 1992 she has worked as an industrial designer at her own studio in Copenhagen, where she designs among other things furniture as well as applied and decorative art. The Freja pitcher designed by Klaus Rath is a contemporary take on the traditional Danish steel pitchers of the 1950s. The bast handle contrasts with the steel and will develop a patina and become even more attractive over time.

The combination of materials beautifully underlines the design of the Unified candleholders. · 28 ·

PEAK

Mikaela Dörfel and her team have created tableware collections for many international design brands and markets. She runs her office north of Hamburg in Germany. Originally from Finland, much of her inspiration comes from the Scandinavian design tradition and nature. Her work is always highly individual, with timeless elegance.

Peak is also available in brass. See it on page 55.

· 29 ·

COMPANION Companion is an exclusive series of accessories for him or her in a timeless and stylish design. Danish designer Søren Refsgaard has created sporty and practical accessories for suitcases, keys and credit cards. The Companion series is easy to keep close at hand, without taking up unnecessary space.

· 30 ·

TO GO CLICK Enjoy hot or cold drinks on the move. Pick your favorite colour and use the cup on the go, whether you are simply going for a walk, to the office or travelling. The palette is vast; from classic black to the new shiny ultramarine which is dynamic and full of character. Between those extremes, our nude, sand and light grey hues are beautifully soft and matt. See all the colours on page 59. All the To Go Click have a mirror lid with a smart click functionality to open and close the cup easily. Drink from all 360 degrees around the cup as if there was no lid on.

MAYA & MAYA 2000 Maya is an outstanding range of cutlery designed by Tias Eckhoff and it comes in two versions. Maya dates back to 1962 and is one of the Phaidon Design Classics. Maya 2000 shares similarities with the original Maya design, but is longer and slimmer, so that its triangular form appears more streamlined and complements even the most modern table setting. Tias Eckhoff is one of Norway’s most versatile designers and a pioneer within industrial design. He has been instrumental in making Scandinavian design famous worldwide.

STELTON CHRISTMAS

· 34 ·

Christmas is full of traditions for everyone. Starting with the well-known woven hearts, endearing angels and decorative Christmas baubles we have captured the essence of the classic Christmas and enriched it with a contemporary twist. It is our aim to use Scandinavian traditional Christmas objects in a modern and architectural way to clarify a timeless beauty that fits in any home. · 35 ·

TANGLE

Hanne Dalsgaard (born 1960) and Christina Halskov (born 1961) are both educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Industrial Design. They established Halskov & Dalsgaard Design in 1990, and work out of central Copenhagen. Their fields of activity include projects within industrial design and product design, covering the process from concept and idea development to the final product. The Tangle Christmas collection in brushed brass and clean lines is designed to mix and match your favourite Christmas items on any table, home decoration or Christmas tree.

Tangle Christmas trees create a beautiful, cosy atmosphere on the Christmas table or in a window. · 36 ·

The Tangle Christmas top star completes your tree. It is beautiful either on its own or in combination with Tangle brass ornaments: hearts, baubles, angels and cornets. The brasscoated top star creates a special festive mood, combining the traditions of Christmas with a modern look.

· 37 ·

FIGURA

Louise Helmersen (born 1973) finished her architecture and graphic design studies at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 2000. In 2004, she set up her own studio on the island of Funen, where she focuses on graphic, product and exhibition design. The series, Figura, is Louise Helmersen’s first collaboration with Stelton. · 38 ·

Our new Christmas collection Figura is the result of graphic designer Louise Helmersen’s experiments with geometric shapes and strips of paper. Very traditional Christmas symbols: hearts, Christmas trees, angels and stars are simplified by Louise’s hands into pictogram-like figures, expressing the Christmas spirit in new exciting and geometric shapes.

The Christmas tradition of bringing a pine tree into the living room and decorating it beautifully is dearly loved. The Treepod Christmas tree holder, designed by Klaus Rath, ensures that the Christmas tree is stable and stands both elegantly and safely. The Treepod, made from aluminium and light beech wood, allows you to adjust the holder to the trunk of the tree. Filling the bowl under the tree with water keeps the Christmas tree fresh for longer. The absolutely unique thing about the Treepod Christmas tree holder is its legs, which can be folded up to save space when not in use. · 39 ·
