Stefano Visconti I was born in Abbadia San Salvatore (Siena) in 1982. Once adult, I decided to move to Florence and to continue with my studies in industrial design. In April 2005 I got a bachelor’s degree in Product Design. After that, in 2006, I took a Master in Design thanks to which I had a great experience in Sao Paulo (Brazil) where i worked for a no profit company. Between 2005 and 2007 I had been collaborating with the University of Florence as a tutor in a few workshops. During this collaboration, some new concepts for new products were produced. In that time I developed a particular interest toward 3D graphic and photography. In early 2007 I moved in London where I worked for ClaudioSilvestrinArchitects. This experience has allowed me to work in a holistic view of design from architecture to industrial design. Since 2009 I refined my technique in the production of photorealistic renderings by developing entirely virtual catalogs for various companies. Simultaneously I spent sometime on photo reportage focused on the products, following various workshops and documenting artisans production processes in Morocco and Egypt. In April 2013 took a Master Degree in Design with honours. Currently I am a freelance designer and photographer.

_Innovative home composting Compostino is supposed to be a freestanding modular appliance for the production of compost resulting from domestic waste. It is obtained by the summation of components strictly necessary for the composting process. Given its discreet presence,Compostino combines the sinuous edge lines of the base inspired by the old furniture of the ‘50s, with contemporary forms attentive to new housing needs. Equipped with a cutting board that also acts as a cover of the collection where the waste is introduced,Compostino induces the user to differentiate the organic fraction of the waste produced within the domestic walls. It can be used as a work surface with which reaching the main supply points inside of the kitchen. At the same time it facilitates a correct collection. Thanks to Compostino, the user never comes into contact with the waste neither visually or olfactory. The waste should be placedon the first container and when the process is completed, the user can get the compost packed in the form of “spheres from the removable base. The device communicates with the user through a series of LED lights.

BBQ _Stone washbasin with pull out shelf Designing a clean and simple element for the bathroom, that is easily customizable according to the needs of space and enjoyment. Optimizing material waste and at the same time giving an unprecedented qualification to the environments for the care of the body, through the union of simple stone slabs. The inseparable link between stone and water is the cornerstone of the project, reflected in the design world and well-being. The structure of the basin is made of travertine slabs with a thickness of 16-20mm (for the sides and base) and the minimum thickness reached from the sliding shelfis 8-10mm. Even the drain pipe provides a covering of stone (travertine). The sliding mechanism of the shelf is formed with notches on the sides of the structure. On the sliding shelf are foreseen some holes: the one on the side with the dual function of accommodation for the towel and holding point for moving the plan and the other central holes, smaller, which partially hides the drain and allow the drainage of water. The shelf can be adjusted in order to get more space bothinside and outside of the basin. Dimensions_

SPADA _Consigli cutlery Scarperia Designed as a multi-purpose clasp knife, Spada comes from a revisit of the three most representative knives of the cutlery tradition of Scarperia: the “Fiorentino”, the “Mozzetta” and the “GobboAbruzzese.” Starting from a typical curve line of the “GobboAbruzzese”, I defined curved blade with truncated tip and the handle that includes a protrusion in the central part for easier handling and use. For the realization of the handle ox horn was used considering the particular aesthetic properties (it is black with inconspicuous veins). I focussed particularly on the rivets, on what unites the blade to the rest of the components,in order to fix the inner frame in steel, the spring for the mechanism, the blade and the horn handle. Minimalist and elegant in design, Spada takes value also at morphological level, with a subtle reference to the animal world. Dimensions_
