Public Impact • Connected 54,000 potential patients to MDA member dentists with a 10% reduction in costs and 20% improvement in performance. • Help seniors, low-income individuals, patients on Medicaid, disabled, handicapped or institutionalized individuals, children and more receive access to dental care. • Air 15-second and 30-second TV commercials that emphasize the strong oral health/overall health connection, and encourage the public to visit the dentist regularly. • Address issues of concern, such as dental X-rays and water fluoridation. • Hold an annual bone marrow drive to support the “Help Take a Bit Out of Cancer” campaign, that helps the more than 5,100 patients in Michigan and more than 1 million nationwide, who are waiting for a transplant each year. • Aided in the expansion of Healthy Kids Dental Program to all 83 counties in Michigan to ensure disadvantaged children get the vital dental care that is essential to their overall health.
