Greetings! I hope you are staying warm during our chilly winter weather! We enjoyed seeing so many children and families learning and growing during our fall Early Childhood Family Education classes and we are looking forward to everyone joining us for one of our winter classes. Even though the weather may be a bit cold, families enjoy coming to class. Our early childhood classes provide early childhood activities for children based on their developmental needs. Parents also benefit by building new skills through observing positive models of interaction in an environment that supports parent-child relationships. We have a class suited to your families needs, so give us a call today at 320-253-5828 or register online at www.stcloudcommunityed.com and click on Early Childhood. Limited openings are available in a few of our preschool classes for the 2016-2017 school year. Please give us a call if you are interested in enrolling your child in preschool. We are looking forward to welcoming you back for a winter class and getting to know the new families that are enrolling in our classes for the first time. Julie Midas Director of Early Childhood Education

Welcome! Winter is the perfect time to discover our Early Childhood Education offerings. It provides all students and parents the opportunity to explore Early Childhood Family Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Screening and St. Cloud Area School District 742 Preschool programing to meet a variety of needs and desires. It’s the ideal way to engage, develop and grow our students — together with our community. Willie Jett Superintendent of St. Cloud Area Public Schools

What is ECFE? Welcome to ECFE Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) believes that parents are the child’s first and most important teacher. We provide quality learning opportunities and resources for parents and their children from birth to kindergarten entry. Parents and children attend ECFE class together. If ECFE is new to you, we invite you to arrange a visit/tour of our Early Childhood Center. A typical ECFE class includes: GROWING TOGETHER: For You and Your Child Play with your child as he or she explores and learns in a play environment. Grow together through art, music, story books and other age-appropriate toys and activities. GROWING INDEPENDENTLY: For Your Child During their play and snack time, the early childhood educator will guide children as they interact with others and as they continue to develop positive attitudes about themselves. GROWING CONFIDENTLY: For You Join other parents, in an informal setting, for discussion led by a licensed parent educator. Parents have the opportunity to share ideas and feel encouraged with the support of others. FEES Fees for ECFE classes are based on income. No family will be excluded because of inability to pay.

Our Mission Our Mission is to create a safe and caring climate and culture in which we prepare, engage, educate, empower and inspire all learners in partnership with their surrounding community to be successful in today’s and tomorrow’s society.

“A secure, flexible and trusting relationship with at least one caring adult is the single most important predictor of a child’s academic and social competence.” ~ dr. terri rose

“Research has shown that fathers, no matter what their income or cultural background, can play a critical role in their children’s education. When fathers are involved, their children learn more, perform better in school, and exhibit healthier behavior. Even when fathers do not share a home with their children, their active involvement can have a lasting and positive impact.”
