Prayer at St Chad’s

Pray that we as a community would share the good news of Jesus in a way that our community can understand. Pray for Egypt following its first democratic elections.

Pray for those who work in hospitality and catering. For God's grace upon them and the joy of blessing others.

“the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Corinthians 3v17)

Invite the Holy Spirit to come and invade your life and fill you with boldness.

Happy Pentecost!

For the many church leaders gathering at the New Wine leader's conference this week. For God to pour out his Spirit upon them. For Fully Charged. For a full team, for lots of children to come & God to move.

Today we celebrate the day of Pentecost, the day of breakthrough and surprise for the disciples. ACer the pain of Jesus’s death, the personal grief of his ascension, (good news for us, but painful for his close friends) and the threat of mockery or persecuon, suddenly God surprises them. They were together and something totally supernatural surprised them and changed their lives forever. One of the most notable changes was the sudden boldness they experienced. They rushed into the streets and started to speak about Jesus. It’s a moment of real freedom; from fear, from anxiety, from pressures to conform, from the limitaons they had put around them. ‘Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom’. The first of our 4 dreams for St. Chad’s is to be a family of mature children of God. Maturity isn’t cauon, it isn’t being sensible, safe or even dull, its being secure and confident. As we’ve been seeing in Colossians, maturity comes from being rooted in God’s love and as we sink our roots into God’s love, the Holy Spirit releases us into greater freedom to be more fully alive.

Pentecost Service Tonight! Join us at 6.30pm for a special service to celebrate Pentecost. Why not set aside me to worship God, hear from Him, rest in His presence and experience freedom – all for His glory?

Stars of Respect We run an annual awards night called Stars of Respect which aims to honour children and young people who are showing respect in their schools and communies. Obviously, puWng on this event costs us money. Unfortunately our Trust is in a difficult financial situaon this year but our trustees have said we can go ahead with Stars of Respect as they see its importance. With all this in mind, we are holding two cycle fundraising events. On Friday June 8th, a group of people are cycling from Southport to Stockport (60+miles) and then in July another group are taking part in the coast to coast cycle over a gruelling two days (144miles). It would be fantasc if you were able to sponsor us and therefore contribute to the running of Stars of Respect. We understand money is ght but we also truly believe that Stars of Respect is a really important event for schools in Stockport.
