Welcome Welcome to the Spring edition of the Sinclair Hammelton magazine, with many new properties including some exciting forthcoming new builds, as well as a larger selection of lettings. We cover the borough from our offices in Bromley High Street & Fairway in Petts Wood. The local property market is showing a potential rise so far in 2013, albeit a slight one and despite the fluctuation and uncertainty in the economy, the Bromley Borough is testament to the resilience to the appeal the area has with fabulous transport links, schooling, and green spaces. Meanwhile salaries have not kept pace with inflation impacting on people's finances, and first time buyers have struggled to find deposits thus often looking to the bank of mum and dad for help. The local market is competitive and the key to sale is a well informed agent, who knows what is happening in the local market, street by street, and has the detailed knowledge of both buyers' and sellers' specific requirements. Once again we have achieved excellent results for clients in the first quarter of this year where our extensive and various forms of marketing have helped achieve the best price for our clients. Both high profile and subtle low profile approaches have been utilised as we appreciate our clients are individuals. The increase in demand for rented property signifies a shift towards a more European attitude to owner-occupation; in Germany home ownership is as low as 43.2% compared to almost 70% in the UK. With an average age of 37 for first time buyers, we are starting to see the Continental Model creep into the UK. The choice to privately rent can also be attributed to the workforce becoming increasingly mobile, as a 'job for life' becomes a thing of the past. As a result our lettings department are handling unprecedented levels of demand for good quality accommodation across the Borough. Paul Moyse was born in the Borough of Bromley back in the days of the barter economy. Having lived here all his life and worked here for the last eight years, there isn’t a local road that he has not become lost in at some point! Paul qualified as an Independent Financial Adviser in January 2001. Since then he has relished his role in providing mortgage advice and financial advice to individuals and local companies alike. Paul enjoys watching all sports on TV, although he adamantly refuses to walk anywhere.
