GROUP FLIGHT FAQ S

1. Choose a destination that is suitable and meets your aims and objectives. 2. Call us for your tailor made quote. 3. Seek relevant approval from your Principal/Head of Department. 4. Complete pre-departure requirements. This should include risk assessments, letters to students, information evenings and going through your pre-departure checklist. 5. Promote your trip within your school or group. Please visit our Teacher Zone: www.statravel. co.nz/teacher-zone.htm 6. Send out letters to parents to sign and agree to the trip and conditions. 7. Collect deposits from students. Advise us if the numbers change to those confirmed. 8. Get in touch with your dedicated STA Travel Group Travel Expert to finalise all your travel requirements and confirm your booking request. 9. You will then receive our final pack detailing all useful information for your trip and you are ready to go!

To help with your planning we’ve put together a list of FAQ’s, however if you can’t find what you looking for get in touch! How many people consist of a group booking? Generally a group booking is a minimum of 10 adults but can vary with some airlines. Adult fares are ages 12 years and up. Group accommodation requires a minimum of 10 rooms. How long does it take to receive my group quote? It can take up to three business days to prepare your group quote as we obtain tailored fare levels from our suppliers. When does your group need to pay a deposit? Generally a group deposit is due within 14 days of booking confirmation and can vary from $100$300 per person depending on departure date and destination. When does your group need to pay in full? In most instances, full payment and final names are required 60 days prior to departure. Airline time limits will be confirmed at time of booking. What are the payment options? Group payments need to be paid as one lump sum rather than per individual passenger. Quotes are based on electronic direct deposit payment. No handling fee will be charged for payments made by debit card and electronic payments, however payments made by credit card will incur a non-cash administration fee. Can some of the group travel at different times? Group deviations may be permitted, subject to the airline, minimum numbers and availability. Please advise us at time of enquiry. What happens if your group needs to change dates? Date changes are permitted but would be subject to availability of group space. Please note, fees may apply for date changes.

As part of our ongoing support we offer a free teacher resource pack that will assist with trip planning, budgeting, risk management and secrets of promoting to students saving hours of research.

Opening a school travel account couldn’t be simpler (and it will make you very popular with your accounts department). This account can be used for anything you book with us, from day trips, insurance and flights right through to escorted tours.

TRAVEL FUND We want to ensure that you continue to book with STA Travel year after year and to encourage you to do this we offer you an amazing opportunity to make money to go towards your next department/school trip. Here is how it works: For every paying student/teacher who travels with us you will receive $10 for your Travel Fund. For example, if you have two trips a year of 30 students, your Travel Fund would be $600. If you recommend us to one of your colleagues/friends and they book a school trip with us you will receive $100 for each booking made and paid for.

PRESENTATIONS At STA Travel we pride ourselves on our knowledge of the world, different cultures and the importance of travelling safely. We are pleased to offer talks and workshops covering any area of travel and group tour styles.

This Travel Fund could go towards allowing a number of your students who may not have been able to travel the chance to do so at a reduced price. Alternatively it could go towards the travel/accommodation costs involved in developing your teaching staff. Or you could take a 50% reduction on the amount in the Travel Fund and put it towards new equipment for your school or department. All you need to do is mention to us that you would like to set up a Travel Fund and you will be ready to make money on every trip. You will be free to use it on any of our many products. Travel Funds are valid for 18 months.

DISCOVERY EDUCATION Discovery Education is an educational travel agency who carefully design quality language and high school programmes for Australian and New Zealand students of French and Spanish languages.

LINGUISTIC HOLIDAYS IN FRANCE Recommended duration: 3 weeks This three-week programme consists of morning classes and afternoon activitites which range from enjoyable sporting and competitive activities to more formal cultural ones such as visiting art galleries or taking guided museum tours. For the initital two weeks, students may choose one of these regions: St. Malo (Brittany), Toulouse Region (Midi- Pyrenees) or Arcachon Bay (Atlantic coast). The third week will take place in Paris, for everyone. Our students will share their experience with students from all over the world.

HIGH SCHOOL IN FRANCE Recommended duration: 3, 4, 6, and 11 months A High School experience abroad is a valuable learning opportunity as students immerse themselves into the environment, culture and language of their chosen country. By attending a high school in France, making new friends and having French families as hosts, students will be constantly challenged to practise their French. The benefits from such experience, however, go beyond language acquisition, as students usually become more responsible and independent, as well as developing a broader understanding on the views and customs of a foreign nation.
