On Animal Welfare

On Teen Cancer

We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of animals across all of our operations, and to changing the attitudes of others within the tourism industry. To this end, we've implemented a pioneering animal welfare policy. WHAT WE ARE DOING

So far we have withdrawn almost 3,000 of our suppliers' tours and activities because they have compromised our stance on animal welfare. These have included Pamplona's Running of the Bulls, Tiger Temple in Thailand and a ban on elephant and ostrich riding. WHAT YOU CAN DO

At STA Travel, we help millions of young travellers explore the world each year. Yet for thousands of young people, their worlds are turned upside down by cancer. STA TRAVEL ON A MISSION

No young person should face cancer alone. That's why we've joined forces with teen cancer charities in the UK, USA, Australia, Austria, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland and New Zealand on a global campaign to raise awareness and vital funds. Our mission is to raise USD $1 million by 2020, and your trip can help us do that. IT TAKES TWO

We're asking our travellers to use their influence to help change perceptions, and in doing so, to help change the lives of animals around the world. If you come across any instances of animal neglect or cruelty on your trip, please report them to your Group Travel Expert.

We're asking our travellers to add just $2 to their booking. 100% of this donation will go towards helping provide the support services, specialist facilities and outreach programmes needed to ensure young people with cancer continue to receive the expert care they need.

I have to say that this year’s Europe Tour was our best yet, all the more so because of the way in which we overcame last-minute difficulties with Istanbul. It seemed almost impossible that you might be able to re-route a group of 30 just 10 days before departure, but against the odds you managed to do so without having to cut into our 3 week itinerary at all. I’m glad we chose STA Travel and would be delighted to work with them again when we plan our next tour. David Parr, Head of E-Learning, Kings College
