Man dies in head-on crash A man has died and two others are in hospital after a truck and car collided in Pearcedale on Tuesday 14 January. Emergency Services were called to the scene at Baxter-Tooradin Road about 12.30pm. Police say an SUV was travelling along Baxter-Tooradin Road at 12.20pm when it attempted to overtake two cars and collided head-on with a semi-trailer. "Emergency services arrived on scene but were not able to revive the male driver of the
SUV," Victoria Police spokesman Glenn Manison said. The driver of the truck has been transferred to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An ambulance Victoria spokesperson said a man in his 50s was treated for minor injuries and taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition while a man in his 60s was treated for upper body injuries and taken to the Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition. Baxter-Tooradin Road was closed in both
directions while police investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident. Pearcedale CFA firefighters were also on scene. The crash has brought the state's road toll to 10 this year.
