By BRIDGET COOK STUDENTS at Hampton Park Secondary College took part in a speed careers day last month to help try and find their perfect employment match. The school held its annual event on Tuesday 3 December, where more than 200 Year 9 students made their way around different stations to learn about different careers. Hampton Park Secondary College careers co-ordinator Robyn Cardamone said the event was a great success. “It was a buzzing, fastpaced and energetic atmosphere,” she said. “With 19 stations to visit, students were able to find out about pathways into different careers. “Students rotated around each station listening and gathering information, they also enjoyed some ice cream after watching how it was made.” The school had representatives from a range of careers including technical, architecture, automotive, hospitality and tourism, engineering, defence force, police, disability support and video games.

MAGIC was in the air last month when grand illusionist Cosentino appeared out of thin air at Westfield Fountain Gate. The magic wielder and winner of the most recent Dancing With The Stars series was at the shopping centre to sign his newly released Magic Kit and answer questions from fans. Cosentino shot to fame in 2011 when he competed in Australia’s Got Talent, coming second in the reality television series. In November last year Cosentino was announced as the winner of the Dancing With The Stars, along with his dancing partner Jessica Raffa. Cosentino’s Magic Kit is available from Toy Kingdom and the first lucky 200 shoppers were placed in a priority queue to have their Cosentino Magic Kits signed.

Cosentino poses for a photo with Daniel and Liam McLeman from Pakenham.
