1.RE-QUALIFICATION

OF SCALO FARINI-Milan, Italy

Urban re-qualification and archiectural design The site lies between Porta Nuova, Bovisa, City Life and Bicocca . The project aim to re-qualify the railway yard at Scalo Farini and develope cultural and residential function. Each building was developed by individual student.

2.MULTI

PURPOSE INDOOR ARENA AT EX-SCALO FARINI - Milan, Italy

A r c h i t e c tural d esign: The building is designed with the aim to create a facility that serves the entire community and provide inspiration by enhancing the experience of audiences and providing a first class sporting venue for elite athletes, amateur athletes and school classes. In Integration with the master plan the indoor arena has acces in 4 different levels. A ramp, which connects Lancetti station with the building, leads to a magnificicent view point on the south part of the building. The main entrance area is a large square on level 8 which connects the arena with the 400 seat theater and the 1000 seat theater. There are entrences on level 0 and level 4 in which is situated the parking with enough parking lots for the vistiros of the arena.Entrances for the players and VIP guests are provided on the opposite side of the building. The building has a very clear functional structure and easy accesability.All the entrances for the public are provided with sufficient survices:ticket office,information desk, toilets and cloack room.

The playgraund size is 44x24. The hall contains all the supporting facilities for professional training and competition, and the auditorium designed as a system of telesopic stand enables the transformation for everyday use as well as for other activities such as concerts, conferences and etc.

The concept is based on flexibility of space.

City of Essen- in Ruhr Area Essen is a city in the relatively densely populated central part of the Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Located on the River Ruhr, its population of approximately 579,000 (as of June 30, 2008) makes it either the 7th largest city in Germany.

Former boiler house of shaft 12 in the typcal Bauhaus style with red steel trusses. Today it houses the Red dot design museum.

Environmental analysis

City of Essen- Industrial yet Green Despite its industrial history, Essen is generally regarded as one of Germany's greenest cities.Zollverein School of Management and Design is located in the north-east periphery of Essen in anIndustrial Zone , called Zollverein.

The Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex is a large former industrial site in the city of Essen.The first coal mine on the premises was founded in 1847, mining activities took place from 1851 until December 23, 1986. For decades starting in the late 1950s, the two parts of the site, Zollverein Coal Mine and Zollverein Coking Plant (erected 1957−1961, closed on June 30, 1993), ranked among the largest of their kinds in Europe. Shaft 12, built in Bauhaus style, was opened in 1932 and is considered an architectural and technical masterpiece, earning it a reputation as the “most beautiful Zollverein Mining Complex – and the Zollverein School coal mine in the world”

Site is Located in The Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, whic is a large former industrial site. It has been inscribed into th UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since December 14, 2001 and i one of the anchor points of the European Route of Industrial Heritag

The new master plan , by Rem Koolhaas, consists of a band around the former historic site, containing the necessary new program and functions. the Zollverein management school is one of them.

OF EXISTING BUILDING-Mori, Italy

Project description: An abandened aluminium factory in Mori, Italy had to be restored and reused in other funciton. The 400m long building was proposed to be a hotel with conventiana center and Spa. The structure was lightweight steel construction.

STOREY HOUSE-Sofia, Bulgaria Project description: This is a project of a simple residential building in Sofia. The edifice is composed of basment, three floors with two apartments in each level and studios on the top.

The property is situated in the Center of ArhusBulowsgade 52. It was built in 1902 by Master Carpenter H. Petersen. The building is 4½storeys and originally had 10 apartments. After the refurbishment the building consists of 7 apartments- 3 small-57 m², 3 big-75 m² and 1 penthouse apartment-127 m².Each floor except basement is expanded with area of 21 m². The apartments on the ground floor are adapted as offices.

7.COMPETITION

INSTANT HOUSE-Milan, Italy

Project description: The chosen location for the project is a place within the Lombardy metropolitan territory connected with the Expo area and with the collective transportation already in place and envisaged for 2015 and are closely linked to and coherent with the themes which the entrant intends to develop. The projects highlight architecture which is sensitive to the environment and territory, to sustainability and the need for human wellbeing and quality of life.
