SPORTS Swimming St. Andrew High placed 3rd with 257 points in the ISSA Swim meet held in November 2016. A number of medals were won and the most outstanding player of the meet was Paris Clare of 9N. The team placed 2nd in the Mayberry School’s competition held on April 28, 2017. We are pleased that 40 students participated in this meet. The coach is Mr. Barrington Brown assisted by Miss Kerrian Munroe. The school also retained the Spirit Trophy. Water Polo The Water Polo Team competed in the High School Competition in October 2016. The U19 team placed second (2nd). They also placed second (2nd) in the Beach Tournament. Aaliyah Jones 10E and Deanna Webber 13A were selected to represent Jamaica at the CARIFTA Water Polo Championships held in Nassau Bahamas April 6-10, 2017. The Team placed Second. Badminton In the Lime Schools’ Badminton League, St. Andrew High School participated and placed 4th In the Inter Schools Knockout Competition, the team reached the semi-final round. St. Andrew High School finished 2nd in the U15 League and was awarded Silver Medals at the closing Ceremony on Friday May 26, 2017. U14 Netball St. Andrew placed 2nd in the Urban Region on May 11. They placed 3rd in the Regional Semi-finals on May 26 and advanced to the All Island Finals on June 2, at the National Stadium. However, they did not make it to the finals. Lawn Tennis The U14 Team of Moesha Fox 9N, Katherine Dibbs 7D, Tahlellah Townsend 7N and Nia Scott 8R and the U16 Team of Emma Dibbs 9N, Kobi Wilcott 11N and Kimberly Foote 11W placed 1st in their respective categories at the JLTA all Island Competition held in October, 2016. The U19 Team lost at the semi-final stage however they played extremely well in their matches. In March 2017 the team participated in the Best of the Best Schools Knock out Tournament. They however lost in the semifinal match against Mount Alvernia High. Basketball The team performed at a high standard throughout the season. They finished 3rd in the zone only the top 2 went on to the finals. Hockey The Under 19 team participated in the ISSA School’s Competition. They however did not advance to the finals. The under 16 team participated in the 1st round and placed 5th in the final standings. The Under 14 Team participated in the ISSA Inter Schools two-day tournament however they did not make it to the finals. Volleyball The Volleyball team participated in the ISSA Schools league where they placed second in their zone and proceeded to semi-final round where they were defeated. 29
