jenny gumbert The time has come for me to talk about one of my favorite subjects: food. Oh yes, glorious food. I wouldn’t call myself a “foodie” per se, but I wouldn’t stop short of saying that I am obsessed with edibles, especially of the autumn variety. I’ve always loved fall’s bounty—juicy apples, sweet butternut squash, earthy mushrooms, and best of all, versatile pumpkins. I wouldn’t be exaggerating when I say that I literally squeal with glee whenever I see local coffee shops offering
pumpkin confections (Pumpkin danish? Yes please!) and pumpkin lattes. My favorite gourd is only available a few months out of the year, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t celebrate all of the goods that fall has to offer year round. Here’s a collection of ideas to bring autumn’s edibles into your home. Having a hard time finding good gourds? Order some of these beautiful tiny pumpkins from Terrain to adorn your mantle or tabletop.
1. Apple & Pear Pinch Bowl Set from Leif, $28 - These fruit-shaped bowls would be the perfect place to keep the herbs and spices that you’ll want to use to season your fall produce. 2. Apple Pie Tea from Art of Tea, starting at $4 - It might not be sensible to eat apple pie every day, so try this tea that promises to be almost as good as the real thing. 3. Finnish Birch Bark Basket from Mjölk, $110 - A great receptacle for all of the goods you’ll pick from local orchards and patches. 4. Green and Red Mushroom Pillows by Studio Meez, €43.50 for pair Add a little fungi to your sofa. It’ll look nicer than it sounds.
