SERVE OTHERS BACK TO SCHOOL EXTRAVAGANZA NOW – JULY 24 In Washington Township, over 40% of kids are registered for free and reduced lunch and struggle to get the supplies they need to start the school year strong. That’s why St. Luke’s started Back to School Extravaganza and Adopt A Classroom where we provide over 4,200 students - that’s every single elementary student who receives free or reduced lunch - with every item on their school supply list as well as school supply support throughout the academic year. And this year, we will also extend our reach by adopting classrooms Kenya via our outreach partner UMOJA. Our support will provide food, books, uniforms, and school supplies for Kenyan elementary students for the entire academic year. Sign up and give at stlukesumc.com/ backtoschool. CURRENT NEED ENL FACILITATORS St. Luke’s offers weekly ENL classes during the school year that include three levels of second language instruction in a safe environment. Our goal is to make sure our participants achieve the skills to move to the next level class. We do this through identifying their needs, building relationships, and fulfilling their learning goals. Join an ENL class on Wednesdays, September 15-May 25 from 6-7:30PM. We need volunteers to facilitate these classes! Contact Andrea Leadford at andrea.leadford@stlukesumc.com for more details by August 5.
