Welcome! We are sincerely looking forward to welcoming you to this, St. Peter’s School’s biggest fundraising event, together. This favorite event is especially potent this year as, after six years as Headmaster, it will be Shawn Kelly’s final SPS event in that role, and at the same time it will be Matt Evans’ first event as Head of School. The Auction is so vital in its role in funding essential expenses, such as the completion of our Blum Library Renovation Project, professional development, and special programming, that are not fully financed by tuition. We both welcome you with the knowledge that funds raised tonight will continue the legacy of St. Peter’s School started at our founding in 1834. We want to give a very special thank you to our 2018 Auction Co-Chairs Beth Hollinger, Michele Jensen, Kathy Ochroch and Jen Tucker, and their wonderful committee of dedicated parent volunteers, for bringing their enthusiasm and drive to this year’s event. They have created a marvelous evening for our School community, with the support of so many generous community partners, along with the faculty and staff of SPS. It is through the generosity of many businesses, faculty, staff, and families that we are able to offer such a wonderful collection of unique items and experiences. We hope that you enjoy the event and are able to find something especially catered to you in one of our many Auction categories. Thank you for your continued support of St. Peter’s School through participation in this Auction. We hope you have a wonderful time and “Party Like It’s 1985!” Sincerely, Shawn Kelly Headmaster, 2012 - April 2018
Matt Evans Head of School, April 2018

“It’s like totally tubular” Welcome to the 2018 auction! We are excited to look back to the 80s - when punk rock and The Preppy Handbook coexisted. We now look back to the future for the next phase of the library renovation, benefiting all of our children and the whole St. Peter’s School community. Preparing for the auction was more than the combined effort of the four of us. We could not have done this without our wonderful Auction Committee: Erika Cardamone, Susan Eizen, Carrie Konold, Jodi Lokoff, Emily McHose, Samantha Ponns and Shabnam Sedaghat. They worked tirelessly –hitting the streets for donations, talking to friends and neighbors and brainstorming ideas, all while having a great time laughing and reminiscing about the music, movies, fashion, and hairstyles that defined the 80s. We are also very grateful for the talent and creativity of the class parents who worked with our children to create beautiful projects that will undoubtedly cause multiple bidding wars this evening; the thoughtful and generous SPS faculty and staff who agreed to donate their time with special “teacher treats;” and to Dena Hillison who was the glue who held everything together and made this evening happen. We also want to express our sincere appreciation for the donors and advertisers who answered our requests and made much of this possible. For those here tonight or bidding from afar, we hope you have a TOTALLY RAD time. Thank you for supporting the library project and all of our children in the process. Beth Hollinger Michele Jensen Kathy Ochroch Jen Tucker
School Supporters Thank you to these companies who supported the Auction with special rates that allowed us to minimize our costs and make this great event such a success.

CLASS PROJECTS Class Projects are a very special and unique part of our event, where our dedicated Class Parents work with students to create projects that are a representation of the class, created by each class. This year the bidding for our wonderful student made class projects will begin a week early, while they are being displayed in the lobby of the School leading up to the Auction. At the Auction, the class projects will be displayed in their own special gallery leading to the main event space. Bidding for class projects will end at 8:15 PM on April 20th.
Preschool The Class of 2028 came together to create two beautiful art pieces for the SPS Auction. The first piece available is a hand print of each of the children in the Preschool, as this year will stay with us forever, like a handprint on our hearts. The second piece that our students created is a painting of sunflowers reflecting master painter Vincent Van Gogh.
CLASS PROJECTS (Continued)
Prekindergarten Prekindergarten has created a beautiful Philadelphia city landscape painted in 24 colors (one for each student in the grade). The city in color! A stunning framed image of the Philadelphia skyline made by the Pre-K class using sponges, paint, and their little hands.
Kindergarten The Class of 2026 is a class of fun, goofy, and uniquely individual students. For this class project, we chose to capture this special moment in time, and in our students’ lives, with a picture of the grade in front of our historic St. Peter’s School building.
First Grade The First Grade is featuring two different projects available for bidding! Each class has its own set of unique dishes. To create these beautiful sets, students drew pictures of their favorite thing about First Grade. The drawings, as unique as the students, were then put on Melamine dishware. Each class set comes with four dinner plates, four salad plates, four bowls, and a platter.
CLASS PROJECTS (Continued)
CLASS PROJECTS (Continued)
The Second Grade’s Auction Art Project is a group assembled American flag made of fabric. In keeping with this year’s focus on Colonial America, each student decorated a portion of the 13 stripes with their words and artistic impressions of what it means to them to be an American. The stars on a blue ground were also drawn by each of the 23 second grade students. The paper stars were then converted to fabric, and each student’s name was embroidered on them so that the students could be immortalized as makers of the flag. So, rather than a representation of the 50 states, this flag represents our 23 stars in the 2nd Grade.
Third Grade Our creative Third Grade decided to take a unique approach to their class project this year. For this year’s project, individual paintings of birds, designed and created by each student, were joined together sitting on a wire to form one work of art, much as each unique student comes together to form the amazing Third Grade!
4th grade captured another fun day by drawing self-portraits of themselves on a larger drawing of the front of our historic school building. Each student’s unique personality is perfectly captured int his special illustrated snapshot of this year at SPS.
The 5th Grade came together and joined their hands to form the shape of one heart on red paper, which was photographed. An inspirational quote having to do with children was written in the center of the heart and then the photo was matted and framed.
Sixth Grade The Sixth Grade researched icons from the 80s that they related to or respected, we then had a group discussion about the time-period. Each student found a quote from the iconic figure of their choice and we put them together in a reflective piece of word-art/poetry. Our goal: to provide a snapshot of the decade of the 1980s as seen through the eyes of the class of 2020. Printed word on letterhead, framed.
Seventh Grade This year’s project is a precious snapshot of the unique 7th Grade. This class then came together and created some special words of wisdom to accompany their photo.
Eighth Grade The Class of 2018 is proud to present their one-of-a-kind SPS String Art Project. Created by the 15 students using unique shades of garnet and grey, this work illustrates how the individuals in this graduating class unite to represent their image of SPS.
Thank you so much to the St. Peter’s School faculty and staff for generously offering their time outside of the classroom for this important cause. Teacher Treats will take place before the close of the 2017-2018 School Year unless otherwise specified. We have listed the treats alphabetically in this booklet, and they can be found on our mobile bidding platform.
