December 10, 2013 Together In Education Meeting Lisa Clark opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. In attendance were Lisa Clark—President, Leslie Henn—Vice President, Anne Libben—Treasurer and Shanna Strouse—Secretary. There were several guests. Treasurer’s Report/Budget—Attached. Leslie Henn moved to accept the Treasurer’s Report and Budget. Shanna Strouse seconded. Motion carried.

Secretary Report—There are no corrections to be made. Anne Libben moved to accept the Secretary’s Report. Leslie Henn seconded. Motion carried. Old Business Crock Pot Meals—November 14th we had 16 dishes provided. We would like to thank everyone who helped out. Box Top/Campbell Labels—At 2,093, Mrs. Sage’s class won. The prize was no homework for a night. Mr. Knapp and Mrs. Gruber handwrote and completed all of the student’s homework in her class. Blood Drive—We had 51 doners at our blood drive which is the same as last year. Holiday Bureau—3rd graders collected the most nonparishables in our drive. They will help pick out the movie for our first movie night. We will choose 3 and have the 3 grade classes cast ballots. Santa Shop—we have 30 volunteers plus the vendors who are attending the event this Friday. We are figuring to feed about 50 people. Valerie and Rebecca have been hard at work securing volunteers and food for the potluck. New Business Family Math Night—the teachers had about 4-5 students per classroom so it was a very nice turnout. It was great to see so many dad’s in attendance. Family Fitness Day—Anne Libben is going to talk with Tyson Smith to see if he is interested in helping with this event. We are looking to have more dad’s involved and also to have more events that families can do together. Lisa is also going to speak with Mr. Bergman about ideas and what we are able to use for that day. Principal Gruber’s Notes -The state has picked RC Water’s Elementary School as High Progress of School of Honor. To become a High Progress School of Honor a building must be a Title 1 eligible school with at least 40 percent of its students eligible for free and reduced-priced meals. These schools must rank in the top 10 percent for gains in proficiency when combining reading and math scores over the past five years and must have an Annual Measurable Objectives grade of C or higher and have met or exceeded Ohio’s value-added measure for the last three years. Open Floor Take Out Tuesday-Shanna has the flyers and will print out one for each month. We were holding off in hopes that Community Market would be joing in. They had expressed interest in possibly offering their fried chicken dinners or rotisserie chickens for that day. Lisa is waiting to hear back from them. Marsha Gilbert asked Marco’s why they have not joined TOT and they stated that it is because we have brought in other businesses to join for the outlying families and

they were a bit offended. We should keep in mind that on January 7th there is a Pizza Challenge at the High School from 4-7 pm. Maybe we can talk with another pizza place then. Lisa has spoken with Kim Zetzer about heading the scholarship committee since she was a part of it last year. We are hoping to get something to the students before Winter Break so they can start working on the essay. Another note on the Santa Shop/ Venders will be setting up at 7:10am and will be ready for the first class at 8:05. They will do wrapping at each vender station. If there is a two hour delay or cancellation we will use the snow day of Monday December 16th. Lisa moves to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 pm. Liz Marquart seconded. Meeting adjourned. The next meeting will be January 13th at 6:30.
