But at that time, this school kid didn’t look even remotely close to being an actor. “Nobody believes me when I tell them I weighed 90 kilos when I was in school! This barely-17 newcomer was then selected for actor Darshan’s home production, Navagraha, which went on to be critically-acclaimed, and what followed were several hits like Ee Bandhana, Venkata in Sankata, Kari Chirathe, Swayamwara and Dhan Dhana Dhan, opposite almost all the A-list actors of Kannada including Duniya Vijay, Ramesh Aravind and Diganth, as also upcoming stars like Prem and Murali, propelling her into the top league of actors in Kannada. I have worked very hard to pick up the accent and dialogue. My director did not approve of any prompting.
