More than 500 awards for university lecturing and postdoctoral research in about 90 countries will be made to Americans for the academic year 1978-79, the thirty-first year of the senior Fulbright-Hays program. The terms of award vary from country to country, but generally consist of a maintenance allowance for the grantee and accompanying family members, roundtrip travel for the grantee, and one or more allowances. Travel is usually provided for one dependent of lecturing grantees appointed for a full academic year.

To be eligible, applicants must have a doctorate or college teaching experience and be citizens of the United States. Those who wish to indicate a continuing interest in Fulbright-Hays and other educational programs may complete a two-page form for the Register of Scholars maintained by the CIES.
