Floods were and are a constant in Itajaí Valley, Santa Catarina, South of Brazil, being registered since the beginning of colonization in 1852. After the 2011 flood event, it was clear that the flood maps should be reviewed. This paper describes the methods and results to develop new flooding maps for Blumenau. Georeferencing and geoprocessing methods were used to generate a digital model of the 2011 flood and to extrapolate it to other levels of flooding. Analysis of the results shows the impacts of the floods from 8 to 15 meters flood levels.
