Journal Activity

Spend a few minutes journaling on the following topic:

What is your awareness of your company’s current harassment reporting policies? How would you expect your report of sexual harassment to be handled by your company? Why is it important that your company investigate and respond to sexual harassment claims?

Scenario Activity

You observe two co-workers having a conversation in the breakroom. One employee, Jay, is making small talk with Sara. You notice that Jay touches Sara multiple times on the shoulder, lower back, and arm, in the course of the conversation. You overhear Sara saying “please stop” and Jay saying “looking sexy in that skirt”. You aren’t sure how to respond or address the issue, but seem to recall that Jay had made similar comments to a member of your team.”

Imagine that you conducted an investigation based upon the scenario we have been following. Using this investigation as a guide, create a conclusion report based on facts you may gather, and policies that may apply. “You observe two co-workers having a conversation in the breakroom. Structure of the Conclusion Report

Overview of the respondent’s position with the organization and their role Review of allegations. Facts of the case based on information gathered from witnesses and other sources. Conclusion of findings based upon the facts of the interviews and relevant company policies. Recommendation for discipline or resolution of case.
