Parade of Homes in Support of Children’s Wishes – Industry Association Continues Legacy of Professionalism The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association has been the voice of the residential construction industry in the Saskatoon region for over 60 years. Our Association is proud to present another exciting showcase of new homes. This year’s Parade features 18 homes in Saskatoon, one in Martensville, one in Warman and one in Osler – 21 homes in total, 12 of which are grand prize homes in the Children’s Wish Foundation Home Lottery. This year’s Parade of Homes offers home buyers an opportunity to see new products and outstanding designs from professional home builders and land developers. They can access information and ideas about the many innovations, industry trends and building techniques in the market that improve energy efficiency in new homes. The Parade also provides builders and their suppliers a forum to introduce new and innovative ideas that offer comfort, convenience and healthy housing. New homes are better than ever as our industry continuously seeks methods to improve the quality, design, efficiency and environmental sensitivity of construction techniques and mechanical systems. All featured homes demonstrate why our professional builders are recognized across the nation for the homes and communities they build.

The participating builders and developers are proud to once again be hosting their Parade of Homes in conjunction with the 23rd Annual Children’s Wish Foundation Home Lottery. The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association is committed to assisting the Foundation in granting wishes and making children’s dreams come true. The Board of Directors and members of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the developers, home builders and their tradespeople and suppliers for participating in this year’s Parade of Homes and for their continued support. On behalf of the Children’s Wish Foundation, it is my humble pleasure to thank the people of Saskatchewan for the millions of dollars raised by the Wish Home Lottery over the past 22 years. This money has helped grant the most heartfelt wishes of children suffering from life-threatening diseases. A wish can bring hope during a long battle with cancer, can be an opportunity to rejoice after an illness or can simply provide the time and support a family needs to reunite after a lengthy medical crisis. Families face a lengthy list of challenges during the illness of their child as reality becomes hospitals, numerous medical procedures such as chemotherapy and radiation and extended hospital stays. Most of us can say that we could never imagine the range of emotions and exhaustion that a family meets through the course of their child’s illness. Perhaps the following story told by one of our past wish children, and one of our most ambitions wish supporters today, can help illustrate how important a wish might be: Hi, my name is Mark and I am a childhood cancer survivor. The memories of my battle with cancer will be forever fresh in my mind. I received a wish in 1993 after my last chemotherapy treatment. It was amazing to be granted that wish of a new audio system for my car. For me it was like the light at the end of the tunnel, recognition for my own fight with cancer. These wishes help kids forget their battles, if only for a few fleeting moments or days. It is because of YOUR support that proceeds from the Wish Home Lottery can bring wish children like Mark, and his family, the peace and joy of forgetting their battles and experiencing their magical wish. Thank you to ALL who help us fulfill the magical wishes of Saskatchewan children!
