Spring Fling 2017 Spring Fling is widely held to be one of the most successful contemporary art and craft open studios events in the UK. In 2017, we celebrated our 15th anniversary and one of our biggest years to date with 93 studios, record visitor numbers and an unprecedented economic impact on the region! This year, we welcomed 17 new studios, held an anniversary showcase of work from private and public Spring Fling collections, took Spring Fling participants work down to Cirencester in the Cotswolds and presented EDGE, a fantastic public art installation on Carrick Beach. 40,549 visits made to 94 studios; an average of 431 visits per studio

51% of our visitors came from outside the region

Visitors from outside UK came from 19 different countries

Over £216,000 spent in our artists’ studios; an average studio spend of £2,308

49% D&G, 22% from Scotland, 28% rest of UK & 1% rest of the world

Over £1.5 million was contributed to the regional economy
