Sports Centre St Mary’s Sports Centre St Mary’s is an indoor facility operated by Sport Solent for the students of Southampton Solent University and the local community. Get involved in a wide range of activities at St Mary’s from fitness classes to the weights room and rock-climbing to fencing. Our product range stretches from beginner classes to top-level basketball matches, as we pride ourselves on catering for people of all abilities and levels of fitness.

Sports Centre St Mary’s has a large sports hall perfect for many activities. Badminton: No Strings Badminton sessions starting from September! No Strings Badminton is a refreshingly new badminton initiative that makes it extremely easy for you to grab a racket, rally around friends and head on court for action. You don’t need to book in advance, just turn up and play, with or without a partner. Tuesday: Business/corporate session Wednesday: 50+ session Thursdays: Open session (at East Park Terrace Sports Hall) Friday: Ladies Only session

Fitness Suite The fully air conditioned fitness suite is open to people of all abilities who want to keep fit and healthy, get in shape, lose weight or train for sport. The gym features treadmills, rowers, crosstrainers, steppers and bikes allowing you to carry out safe and effective cardiovascular exercise programmes. We also offer an extensive choice of fixed resistance machines and free-weights.

Fitness Classes Our experienced instructors teach a variety of classes suitable for people of all abilities and levels of fitness. Classes are varied, exciting and most importantly, fun! This is why we offer a wide range of fitness classes to stimulate your enjoyment just as much as your muscles. Some classes are aimed at working specific body areas, while others give a great all over body workout.

LADIES ONLY ACTIVITIES Sport Centre St Mary’s offers activities designed specifically for ladies, with friendly female staff in a close and private session. Monthly memberships are available giving you access to ladies only gym sessions and several fitness classes. You can also pay as you go for individual sessions.

LADIES ONLY FITNESS A low impact and whole body toning workout for ladies only.

ZUMBA A fusion of Latin and International music that creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system.

LEGS, BUMS & TUMS A low impact class aimed at targeting legs, bums and tums. It combines standing and floor work sections.

YOGA A great way of toning and conditioning both the body and mind.

Squash

Squash is a fantastic racket sport easier to learn than tennis that you can play all year round! Improve the strength of your legs, arms and core region, lose weight and develop your hand-eye coordination.

Terms and conditions • Booking available up to 7 days in advance • Payment to be made at time of booking • A squash session lasts 40 minutes • Equipment is available at reception at an additional cost • Customers must wear appropriate clothing in the squash court • No black soled shoes to be worn on the courts

02380 330 865 Climbing is a fun and sociable way to keep fit and healthy. Whether child or adult, beginner or experienced, come along and climb the 6.5m high wall at Sports Centre St Mary’s. With 19 top ropes and over 50 professionally set routes, re-set every month, there’s always a new challenge. Have a FREE assessment if you already know how to climb - once signed off, you’ll be able to climb unsupervised during any public session. If you’d like to give climbing a go for the first time, or it’s been a while since you last took to the ropes, just book a taster session or an Intro to Climbing course and you’ll be taught from the ground up! Main hall Solent Youth Academy sessions Saturday mornings We hold football, basketball, cricket, and volleyball games as well as gym sessions with qualified instructors and coaches. An induction is required. Restrictions may apply for gym usage.

Other services Private hire The venue can accommodate up to 600 people. The main hall can be hired for wedding receptions, birthday parties and sporting events, such as boxing, wrestling and martial arts.
