leaders were recognized in accordance with the terms of the Action ’06 membership campaign. Many lodge and individual awards were presented. The goal of SPJST’s Action ’06 program was to write at least 2,625 applications in 2006. A total of 4,133 applications for life insurance certificates were written in 2006. The banquet began with introductions and welcomes by SPJST officials. Supreme Lodge Vice President Gene McBride then presented a summary of SPJST’s success in 2006. He and Vestnik Editor Melanie Zavodny introduced the 2007 SPJST membership campaign: Rhythm ’07. They closed with a skit entitled “SPJST Band” comparing instruments to various parts of SPJST. Representing the members, or the voice of SPJST, was William “Elvis” Kirby of Lodge 89, Rosebud. He performed several songs for those in attendance. Supreme Lodge President Brian Vanicek recognized 27 individuals for the special honor of being nominated Fraternalists of the Year from their respective lodges. The SPJST State Fraternalist of the Year is Robert “Bob” Hagen of Lodge 246, Morgan’s Point. The honorable mentions are Anton J. Kelner of Lodge 28, East Bernard; Patsy
