The Apron Says It All SPJST Home Office Mortgage Lending Specialist Daryl Entrop demonstrates that sometimes it's okay to "cut up" at work. Brother Entrop was in charge of trimming brisket at the Texas Barbecue Lunch hosted by the SPJST Home Office on behalf of the March of Dimes on April 8. More than 1,300 barbecue plates were served, raising more than $6,000 for the charity. Thanks to all Home Office personnel, area lodges, members, businesses and attendees who supported the project. The fund-raising effort concludes this Saturday, with a fun run and walk at Lion's Park in Temple. See page five for related photos.

Jerry and Frances Tallas, of Lodge 29, Taylor, played a perfect 8 and 0 tourney game, taking awards as the First Place team in 1999. Stella Perez and George Soukup of Lodge 6, Cottonwood, stayed closed to the Tallas' shirttails throughout the day, and pulled off seven wins and one loss, to end the afternoon in second place. William and Frank Koerner, from the recently reorganized SP "baby" Lodge 5, Pilot Point - Tioga, made the trip south to sister Lodge 6, Cottonwood, and earned a six and two win/loss record for third place overall. Well known dominoers, Jerry Cabla and Johnnie Svoboda from Cyclone, Lodge 24, also had a six and two win/loss record, but acquiesced in the play-off for third and fourth places and ended up in fourth place for the day. Thanks to President Leshikar for coL.rdinating the tournament during my absence. Kudos to Lodge 6, and newly elected President Al Soukup and the Cottonwood lodge support team, for taking the initiative to host the tournament for the first time. As was relayed to me by players and attendees, they were great hosts for the day. SPJST State "42" Domino Tournament - March 20 Hosted by Lodge 15, Buckholts

Arnold Tydlacka and Walt Surovik of Lodge 13, Dimebox came by their first place win after tough competition. With just one loss for the day, they conquered their competition in the playoffs and captured first place in the State "42" Domino Tournament. Jerry and Jimmy Turek, father and soil team from Lodge 48, Beyersville, also with seven wins and one loss, pulled back and accepted second place for the day, after a demanding playoff against Tydlacka and Surovik. Another father and son team, Kenneth and Keith Andel, from Lodge 24, Cyclone, picked up where the Tureks left off, and traveled home with a third place win for the '99 tournament.
