Agnes Vincik Pavliska, Age 96, Of Lodge No. 107 .. Floresville Presented Endowed Insurance Policy On her birthday, February 25, 1990, Sister Agnes Pavliska was presented her paid-upinsurance certificate from the SPJST Supreme Lodge by her stepson, BillyPavliska, past president of Lodge No. 107. Other family members present to celebrate this · occasion with Sister Agnes were Christine Vincik Baumann, Llllie Vincik Creech, Edward Vincikwith his wife and son, Maxine Pavliska and Bill Pavliska, Jr. Sister Agnes was born February 25, 1894, in Czechoslovakia and came to America with her mother, Frances Svoboda,when she was 3 years old. While a young girl she lived in Moulton, Texas and came to Wilson County, Texas in 1905. She attended schoolin Waeheim and Ridout. On April 4, 1915, Sister Agnes married Jacob John Vincik.They lived on a farm in Poth, Texas where they raised 7 children, namely, lillie Vincik Creech, Milton Vincik (deceased), Leo Vincik (deceased), Christine Vincik Baumann, George Vincik, Molly Vincik Ecker, Edward Vincik and 3 stepsons Joe, Charlie and William Vincik. In addition to her family, there are 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great - great grandchildren. On June 26, 1947 Sister Agnes was married to John Pavliska (both of their spouses were deceased).

SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATION·· Brother Bobby Dobecka (on behalf of his parents, Brother Robert and Sister Lydia Dobecka) is presenting a check to Sister Margaret (Lander) Lenart, a recipient of the Teresa Mae Dobecka Scholarship Fund of SPJST Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood. The scholarship is given to a Lodge 6 member who plans to pursue a higher education; Sister Lenart will enroll at a college in Tyler and plans to earn her Master in Nursing. John and Agnes stated they would be happy to have 5 years together. John and Agnes lived to celebrate 28 years of happy married life before John died in 1976, three months before his 92nd birthday. Sister Agnes is a loving stepmother and grandmother to John's 3 sons and 2 daughters and their children. The grandchildren have "fond memoriesof eating "Sally Ann ice box cookiesand the best ever kolachewith their grandparents for "svacina," and picking beautiful bouquets· of flowers from the flower gardens which she tended at the old Pavliska farm home. Quilting and crocheting were very important . parts of Sister Agnes' life when she was not busy with farm or house work.
