The child is the beauty of God present in the world, that greatest gift to a family. - Mother Theresa

Dear Friends, What a difference a year has made! This report comes to you as we joyfully conclude the 2021-2022 school year. Joyful, not because the school year is over, but because we can now look forward with increased optimism, energy, and enthusiasm as the pandemic continues to retreat further and further behind us. I am so incredibly proud of how our community has handled the challenges of the past two years! So I thought it fitting to give you a snapshot of how St. Pius X School has impacted your student this year and how they, in turn, have impacted the community around them. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into our little corner of the world and, as always, thank you for choosing St. Pius. Have a great summer! Blessings, Mrs. Cox 2

Our New Science Lab! This six-figure renovation created a state-of-the-art lab, rivaling that of any local High School.

And it's official... our COGNIA accredidation has been renewed!

"The play's the thing..." So said Hamlet, and so say we! This year saw the return of a drama program to SPX, and the reviews were amazing! 500+ tickets were sold for two performances of Seussical Kids, and the smiles speak for themselves!

Service and Outreach Our students and their families gave of themselves to help people on the other side of town and the other side of the world. We don't just say The Beatitudes; we try to follow them! OCTOBER We sent over 1,000 pairs of socks to homeless shelters. NOVEMBER We collected "Everything But The Turkey" to help feed families at Thanksgiving. DECEMBER Our Giving Tree helped make Christmas merry! JANUARY We collected food to restock food pantries after the holiday rush. FEBRUARY We sent hundreds of "candygrams" to nursing home residents.

Our staff and students love dress-down days! With a $1 donation, we dressed-down for: American Heart Association Juvenile Diabetes Epilepsy Autism

Aid to Ukraine Our Community responded generously! Through St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Watervliet, we sent cases of medical and tactical supplies, hundreds of teddy bears, and over $4000 to help them with shipping and freight charges.

YOU have a tremendous impact on US! Your complimentary words to your friends, family, and coworkers are worth more than you realize! We've always known that word-of-mouth is our most valuable marketing tool, but lately we are amazed at the number of families it is sending our way! We are close to recouping the enrollment lost over the last five years, and it is due in large part to your endorsements. THANK YOU!

Noteworthy for 2022-23! American Sign Language - A new elective for our 7th and 8th graders! The Wizard of Oz - Our Spring, 2023 Drama Club production! Archery - Small-group instruction available after school! Nature's Classroom - A 3-day science intensive in Charleton, MA for our 6th and 7th graders! Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - For our PreK 4 and K students, a religion program in dedicated space where they will learn to contemplate and enjoy God! 3rd Grade and Full-Time PreK 3 - We're adding additional sections to accommodate demand! Universal PreK - We're continuing our partnership with NCCS, and will have a dedicated UPK classroom this year. Ipads - We have dozens of new tablets arriving soon and will be able to offer classroom sets to K through 2nd Grade. Interactive Digital Boards - Seven of our classrooms will be outfitted with this new technology replacing the SMARTboard/projector equipment we currently use. We will be continuing this upgrade until all classrooms have been converted.
