DESIGN PROPOSAL: 300 FIELD HOUSES IN CHICAGO Grasshopper was used for data analysis to help determine which parks in Chicago would benefit from a field house, and the type of program needed. Site analysis was done using project Vasari to determine proper building placement based on wind and solar analysis.

Perspective Views In Situ in Crown Hall, Northwest

Originally started as an exploration of beam-like spanning structures, this form evolved according to budgetary and time constraints into smaller iterations still reinforcing the ideas of the original concept. The structure acheives spanning capacity both by the virtual depth of the interlocking vierendeel truss formations as well as the corrugated surface created by the curvature in the wood. The system is manufactured out of ash strips that are joined by a post connection containing a threaded rod, pvc pipe, and bent washers to brace the tension cords. The ash is held onto the posts by specially fabricated sheet metal brackets . The current structure still spans in two directions, suspended from cables connected across Crown Hall; as such, the structure depends on two-directional reverse curvature.

DESIGN /BUILD: YESTEMORROW SCHOOL OF DESIGN Material deconstructed from a home in Shelburne Vermont. Created a Shelving Unit from recycled, deconstructed pieces of the home.
