Point of sale
POS Point of sale
Here at Spectrum we adopt a client led approach to brand development.
We want to give the client what they want rather than tell them what they want. So we get as detailed a brief from the client as possible to try and ensure they get a design at the end of the process that they can happily live with into the distant future. brand

We have 3 standard steps that we employ to make the process of developing a client’s brand as stress free as possible. After we have met with the client and helped identify exactly what it is they want their brand to say and do for them, we go through the following 3 stages: 1. Initial concept. We present 3 concepts to the client from which they will choose one. 2. Concept development. We progress with the chosen concept until approved by our client. 3. Continuation of brand throughout relevant stationery items. We create branded items of stationery: letterheads, business cards, compliment slips, email signatures, envelopes, etc.
You name it, we’ve printed it The combination of our creative department with our print management department is part of what makes Spectrum such an excellent choice for your creative needs. It allows us to quickly and efficiently source and cost any material or process to be able to establish the viability of any creative at an early stage. Our creative department’s print portfolio covers a vast range of material over a huge diversity of subject matter, everything from multinational pharmaceuticals to a record sleeve. What follows in these pages is just a sample to try and communicate what we are capable of.
We can produce any piece of printed matter you may require including: • Branded stationery • Flyers • Brochures • Annual reports • Posters • Large format banners • Building wraps • and much, much more...
Shires Catalogue This is an example of a high end catalogue where the creative is simple and the photography is of a very high quality. When supplied with good material by the client we will often look at finishing options to take the piece to the next level. Here the piece had a very high end feel to the touch as a result of the design and also the choice of paper.
Currys/PC World Christmas Gift Guide This is an example of Spectrum taking the project from start to finish in its entirety. Here we generated the initial concept, did the production for the shoot, art directed the shoot, set the catalogue and printed 1.5 million copies. Truly, from concept to delivery.
We have handled entire campaigns for clients from concept development, re-sizing for various publications and dealing with media buyers and papers directly. We also simultaneously manage online flash campaigns for clients and make sure there is a consistent look and feel to the campaign across all media.
Entire Suite of Collateral We are happy to execute a creative concept across a wide range of printed media for clients. Starting with the initial concept and again making sure creative consistency is maintained throughout.
Publishing: We have handled a wide range of publishing titles from single publications to entire volumes of literature that required a themed set of covers. The work varies greatly, ranging from highly conceptual work to more functional display based work. We communicate closely with the client to ensure their needs are met.
Clever Clogs Gifts and Toys Catalogue Colour was the key here. The catalogue was to promote Clever Clogs’ range of high end kids gifts and toys to retailers in the baby and toddler’s retail sector. Colour coded categories, big playful layout and price point devices have made it easy to navigate and thus a success for Clever Clogs.
IADT Dun Laoghaire 2009 Student Showcase Guide This was a programme of final year media students work on show at IADT. It had to have a professional look and feel as the exhibition was being attended by potential employers but also communicate the contemporary nature of the subject matter.
Any idea, any shape, any size... We have no limitations on what can be achieved in the design of any merchandising or point of sale media. Again, a clear communication with the client is vital to establish exactly what the desired effect is but after that has been agreed the sky’s the limit! The following is a range of examples of point of sale work we have created over the last few years but we are always looking for clients who want to try something different. • Shelf talkers • Free standing units
POS Point of sale
• Shelf strips • Hanging boards • Presentation boxes • Large format instore display • Floor display • and many more...
Irish Cancer Donation Box The brief here was to generate a device for a girls night out in association with Centra where Centra provided the goodies for the night out.
Faustino Competition Entry Box In an effort to engage a younger audience, Faustino launched an instore campaign to win a trip to Madrid. This is the main instore entry box, based on a wine bottle cork. It was accompanied by additional point of sale for an entire instore campaign.
Fruice Croke Park GAA Box Here Fruice wanted to gift some product to kids as they entered Croke Park for a big GAA game. The concept was that the pack would be their “kit bag” for the day. The cardboard texture was already a present element in the Fruice brand and lent the piece a very organic feel.
Coca Cola Merch Stand We produce a lot of in store merchandising and point of sale for Coca Cola. It’s a pleasure to work with such a big brand.
Yellow Tail Surf Board In an effort to hammer home that Yellow Tail is an Australian wine brand, they asked us to come up with some instore promotional material. A life size surf board was the obvious choice.
Pixels, you can do so much with just pixels! Spectrum can offer most regularly required creative digital media. It is an ever expanding area for us and one we are really enjoying growing with. With websites we offer 2 services, either we design the site and the client has it developed by an outsourced developer or we can handle the whole thing in house if preferred. We are also happy to design and implement flash campaigns for all the various formats.
We have the facility to provide a full HTML email service where we can design the eshot and, given a database, email it to all the client’s customer base in a visually engaging format.
Fitzwilliam Card Club Design|Build
With the Fitzwilliam Card Club, the brief was to make their new site look contemporary but luxurious. While meeting the visual brief was very do-able, we also had to ensure that all the navigation and interaction elements were clearly visible and easy to use without spoiling the look and feel.
The Dublin School of Guitar Design|Build
Here the client wanted to include the old Dublin feel of the side of their Georgian facia’d school with a more contemporary look. They also wanted to have the home page very benefit driven with 5 core values. Plecs make great bullet points!
IPPA Design only
The the IPPA already had an exiting website which they were happy with the functionality of but thought the design needed a face lift. This is something we do quite regularly. We will liaise with the developer to ensure the flat design files we supply are actually possible to build!
We Shoot Stock Design only
This was an interesting project. An Irish stock image website. The client wanted an easily navigable interface that had a modern clean look and feel. The main aim here was to design something that would feel familiar to a person who was used to browsing stock image websites.
for taking the time to browse this portfolio, if you like what you see don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to talk to you about your upcoming creative projects.
