The Speckle Park breed celebrated the legendary contributions of the Sunderland family at their dispersal sale in October. The top-selling female was Misty Fritz of Uneeda 130A, sired by Uneeda Wonderbar 05W, was purchased by the partnership of MX Ranch, Neilburg, Sask., and Rose Hill Speckle Park, New South Wales, Australia, for $15,000. Emerald of Uneeda was the second highestselling female at $10,500, sired by P.A.R. Ascape 89A, and went to Wheaton Bros. Pty Ltd. and B & BH Guest, both of New South Wales, Australia.

Spots ‘N Sprouts 1B (see page 36) was the topselling female at $10,750; a daughter of Six Star 82U Royal Flesh 101Y, she was purchased by KFC Farms Ltd., Abbotsford, B.C. The highselling heifer calf was Ravenworth Lightning Lady 310H, sired by Wolf Lake Free Trade 42F, who went to Colgan’s Cattle Company Corp., Saskatoon, Sask., for $5,000. Notta Ranch opened up their tank to share an offering of semen from some of the breed’s most influential sires, and it was hotly contested, selling for $275325/unit to KFC Farms Ltd., Maple Lake Stock Farm, River Hill Farm, Spots N Sprouts Speckle Park, Underhill Specs, and Velian Farms.

A new world record for the highest-selling Speckle Park bull was set at Wattle Grove’s annual sale. Wattle Grove Paperboy P503, a son of Codiak Putnam GNK 61Y, sold for AUD$68,000 to Stephen Ariss of Temple Mount Farm, Victoria, Australia. The topselling female was Wattle Grove 01B Niome Q506, a daughter of Avery Creek Banjo 01B, who was purchased by Gotcha Cattle Stud of New South Wales for AUD$31,000. The offering of the buyer’s choice of semen from a selection of proven Australian sires sold for $500/straw to AG & SG Chessells of Victoria, Australia. Toebelle Speckle Park, New South Wales, Australia, purchased the top embryos, a mating of Avery Creek Banjo 01B and Codiak Utah GNK 23U, for AUD$3,750/embryo.
