The Canon T1i or the Kiss X3 digital is the fifth generation among the rebel series. Although it was released during the economic recession, it was still able to penetrate the entry-level DSLR market. Ever since the first Rebel series camera was released, it was the camera of choice among wouldbe photographers. Canon has always been a great contender when it comes to cameras. Let us see if its latest device was able to live up to its reputation. If you compare the T1i to its predecessors, you will notice that it has fewer features. Due to this design, Canon was able to make a camera that cost a lot less. In addition, the fewer features were replaced with a bigger viewfinder. The features that they removed were not widely used. The new design made it one of the most versatile DSLR cameras in its series. The T1i has a 15 megapixel sensor that is powered by Canon's DIGIC 4 image processor. It can accommodate ISO 100 to 3200. What makes this model special is its 1080p High Definition video recording. It is the first beginner's class DSLR camera that can record HD video. Basically, the Kiss X3 is a 450D, but with a 15 megapixel sensor and HD video recording capability. It even has the same body of the 450D. The ISO can be extended up to 12800, which is pretty amazing for an entry-level camera. It even features Face Detection and Peripheral Illumination Correction. The menus are very easy to use, thanks to the Digic 4 system. You can even adjust the noise reduction and lighting optimizers in four levels. This is something that its predecessors didn't have. It can capture video in different modes. You can either use VGA or 720p which records at 30 frames per second or 1080 running at 20 frames per second. This makes the T1i a very versatile video camera. It even has a 3.0 inches TFT LCD which displays 920,000 dots. The LCD of this model is almost four times clearer than its more expensive predecessors. The Canon T1i uses a 9 point AF system, which is found in the professional-level Canon EOS Rebel XSi. It has a number of different focus modes that you can choose from. However, the builtin flash is not as sophisticated compared to other DSLR in the market. Shooting pictures under pitch black environments can give you grainy images. It has a lens-based image stabilization system makes sure every shot is going to be sharp. It uses an inexpensive SDHC memory card, which is a lot cheaper compared to Sony's memory stick duo. The Lithium Ion battery can take up to 400 shots with one charge. The package already includes a USB, hot shoe, and HDMI cable. Overall, the Canon T1i is a solid DSLR. What makes this camera great is its video capability. You get a great video camcorder that is able to record video at full 1080p High Definition. If you take

away its video recording, it will be just another entry-level DSLR. Picture quality is excellent, but they are other cameras under the same price that offers better results. However, these cameras can only shoot still images. Most enthusiasts would chose HD video over slightly better images. The HD capability is enough to make this camera worth it.
