You will make four fantastic cookie recipes - Almost Mrs. Fields’ Chocolate Chip, Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate with White Chips and Toffee Chocolate Chip. Delicate Decadent Desserts Did you ever want to dazzle friends and family with delicious desserts? Using cakes, garnish, raspberries and chocolate to create 6 individual delicate desserts. No refund after Nov 1.
Classic Truffles - Chocolate of Course! Truffles are delicious and easy to create for yourself or for sharing. Dip truffles in chocolate or roll them in chopped nuts, cocoa, flaked coconut or chocolate sprinkles. Truffle centers may be a plain rich chocolate or they may be flavored with espresso or liqueurs. Decide to place a surprise pecan half, a whole almond or a candied cherry in the center too! Assorted round chocolate truffles are a delight for your taste buds and a pleasure for your eyes in their decorative candy cups. Expect to take home an assortment of 25 exquisite truffles. Driving Classes CarFit: Ensuring Your Car’s Safest Fit Do your car’s adjustable features fit you properly? Receive a quick but comprehensive check of how you and your vehicle work together. A trained volunteer will ask simple questions and complete a 12-point CarFit checklist. The entire process takes about 20 minutes per driver. Leave with recommended car adjustments and adaptations, a list of resources in the area, and greater peace of mind. Her feisty spirit and drive to succeed made her a political force to be reckoned with on issues of social justice, labor rights, and equality. Renowned playwright Kim Hines tells the remarkable story of this young African-American woman who moved from a farm in northern Minnesota to Minneapolis to attend the U of MN. In the face of discrimination at her job, Nellie fought back by organizing workers to form a union, breaking numerous race and gender barriers along the way. A discussion of the performance to follow. This activity is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund. Shores of Lake Michigan May 5 - 11, 2013 Course # 8058-FSA Take a trip along Lake Michigan, featuring the Windy City, Dutch heritage, sand dunes, horse drawn carriages and water at every turn. Our excursion takes us across America’s Dairyland for an overnight stop north of Chicago, with a narrated morning tour of Chicago and a lunch stop at Navy Pier. From there, we will travel to Holland, Michigan, a community inviting the world to celebrate the Dutch heritage during the Holland Tulip Time Festival. This world renown festival showcases Holland’s dynamic community, spectacular tulips, and authentic Dutch architecture. Onward we go to The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Northern Michigan. Sleeping Bear Dunes voted by Good Morning America viewers as one of the most beautiful places in the country, with its collection of sand dunes that peak at over 400 feet. Beautiful Traverse City will provide our accommodations on Wednesday. Thursday, we will head to Mackinac Island aboard the Star Line Ferry, the boat that produces a 35-foot rooster tail spray. While crossing, drink in the spectacular scenery including the world’s longest suspension bridge that connects Michigan’s two peninsulas. Since 1887, the Grand Hotel, the crown jewel of the secluded island, beckons visitors to a bygone era of old-world hospitality and charm. It is here that we find the Grand Luncheon Buffet, extending nearly 100 feet providing offerings beyond compare. Save room for the dessert table’s 20+ selections. When the feast concludes, enjoy a narrated, horse-drawn carriage tour where we will see Arch Rock, the Governor’s Mansion and Surrey Hill. Continue the nautical theme with a visit to the famous Soo Locks, a National Historic Site that has been allowing ships from around the world access to the heartland of America since 1855. Enjoy a narrated dinner cruise through the two longest locks in the world, right alongside the giant freighters. We will spend the tail end of the trip on the Upper Peninsula, with a visit to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and the incredible Tahquamenon Falls on the way to Escanaba for our final overnight. Our trip home will take us through the North Woods of Wisconsin and include a visit to a real Lumberjack Camp. This tour is planned in partnership with Landmark Tours and offers a great getaway after a long Minnesota winter. Annual Holiday Party Tuesday, December 4 11:30 a.m - 1:30 p.m.   
Saint Paul Community Education Senior Program and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation’s Recreation for Adults 50+ Program are presenting their annual joint holiday party. The Phalen Golf Clubhouse will be transformed into a holiday atmosphere with dinner, entertainment by “Ole and the Ice Scrapers” and prizes.
