We wish to pay tribute to Mr Patsy Quigg who served as Vice Principal in St. Patrick’s College for 29 years and taught for 43 years since the school opened in 1963. The College is indebted to him for his service and loyalty. May He Rest In Peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
PARENTS’ MEETING There will be a meeting for parents of pupils in Years 8, 10, 11 and 13, in the Sports Hall of the St Patrick’s Building on Friday 10 February 2012. Please note the following arrangements: o Surnames A-K o Surnames L- McM o Surnames McN – Z
9.10 am – 11.00 am 11.15 am – 1.00 pm 1.45 pm – 3.45 pm
Teachers will be available from 9.10 am until 3.45 pm except during a break period from 11.00am to 11.15am and a lunch period from 1.00 pm to 1.45 pm. We would ask for your patience in accommodating the staff breaks. NB The Year 9 Parents’ Meeting has been postponed until further notice. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING: •
There will be an Information Evening for Year 10 Parents on Thursday 1 March 2012 at 7 pm.
Mid term Break is from 13 February until 17 February inclusive.
Literacy is a focus in the College this year – please encourage your child to read.
Parents are asked NOT to make appointments during school hours, teaching time is precious and attendance is very important for pupil progress.
Thank you to parents and pupils for adhering to school policy with regard to the uniform. The clip-on tie is a great improvement to the uniform and makes the pupils look very smart. We intend to make this a whole school uniform change in September 2012.
Text Messaging Test: Following recent parent consultation we will now be using a text messaging service as a means of communication for emergency and other messages.
If you have provided a current mobile number you should receive a test message on Tuesday 31 January. If you receive the message please let us know by completing Part a) of the feedback slip below and please return it via your son/daughter on Wednesday 1 February.
