Welcome to Germany

A trip to our gastronomic culture

We are what we eat.

Why • Because sugar is not good for your teeth and your body. • Because proteins are good for the body. • Because calcium is good for bones. • Because they have a lot of Carbohydrates, and it’s healthy for our cells and is an energy source for our muscles and brain. • Because it is healthy for your body and you get more energy.

A Day In The Life Of Our Friend Horst Horst gets up at 6 o´clock in the morning and first of all he has a cup of milk with chocolate and much sugar. Also he likes to make a fresh fruit salad. But with lots of sugar again. In addition he eats a bap with jam or ham.

So his food pyramid looks like this:

After having breakfast he goes working. For lunch he makes a typical dish for the German region Lusatia – potatoes with cottage cheese, liverwurst, linseed oil and some cucumbers. After that he takes some pancakes (which are made with buttermilk). Later in the afternoon he enjoys a piece of a Black-Forest-Tart.

Now his pyramid looks like this:

In the evening Horst is happy that he hasn´t to make dinner, his wife does it for him and so he enjoys potato salad with grilled sausages. For dessert she had baked a traditional cylindrical cake built up of horizontal layers on her own.

Every day Horst often eats much sugar and food with lots of oils and fats. More than sweet meals he likes vegetables and fruits. He also likes eating carbohydrate to get energy for working. Fortunately he eats most sugar as a snack.
