CHAMBER FOCUS Laserflex Expanding Operations in Spartanburg County

Spartanburg Young Professionals Embrace Entrepreneurism

Laserflex, a precision metal fabricator, has announced that it will expand its existing operations in Spartanburg County. The $4 million investment is expected to generate 20 new jobs. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Laserflex will expand its South Carolina operations by moving to a new, 63,000-square-foot building in Wellford, which will increase the company’s manufacturing space by 23,000 square feet. The expansion will allow Laserflex to add a range of new operations, including machining paint and laser tube cutting. Laserflex expects to have the move to the new facility completed by end of this month and is planning an open house on October 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new facility, located at 230 New Hope Road in Wellford. Plant tours and equipment demonstrations will be available. “We are pleased Laserflex, a long-time corporate citizen of Spartanburg County, is diversifying and growing their operation here,” said Russ Weber, chairman of Spartanburg Economic Futures Group Board of Directors and president of Integral Solutions Group. “We are always excited when existing companies grow, verifying Spartanburg County as an excellent location to do business. We appreciate their continued commitment to our corporate community and their ongoing investment of operations and job opportunities.” The company will begin hiring certified welders, machinists and laser operators starting in the fourth quarter. Individuals interested in work opportunities with the company should send their resume to jobs@laserflexsouth.com. For more information about the company, visit www.laserflex-inc.com.
