CHAMBER FOCUS Businesses and community leaders recognized at Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce 95th Annual Meeting Upstate businesses and community leaders were recognized and honored at the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Spartanburg Marriott. The Annual Meeting, presented by Denny’s, is the Chamber’s most prestigious event of the year, celebrating the many accomplishments of the Upstate business community. Dr. Joe Salley, President and CEO of Milliken and Company, was the keynote speaker for the event. Recognitions and awards during the event included: • The Neville Holcombe Distinguished Business Person of the Year Award presented to Sheila S. Breitweiser, Ed.D., Executive Director/Vice President of the Spartanburg Regional Foundation. • The James B. Thompson Small Business of the Year Award sponsored by Allegra Marketing Print Mail and presented to Hospice Care of South Carolina and accepted by co-founders David Niday and Todd Picou. • The University of South Carolina Upstate sponsored the Teachers of the Year awards honoring the following educators: Erin Gramling - District 1; Windy D.
