Ten at the Top Vision Forum Focus: Workforce & Skill Development

The theme for the 2013 Our Upstate Vision Forum Series is Destination 2030 - Thinking BIG and BOLD about the future of the Upstate. Each forum will focus on a different subject with the first forum focusing on Workforce and Skill Development. The first forum of 2013 will be held on Thursday, January 31st from 3-5 pm at the BMW Zentrum. The goal of each forum in 2013 is to identify transcendent ideas that will help ensure that the Upstate in 2030 is universally recognized as a leading place to live, learn, do business and raise a family. Each forum will focus on a key issue that not only impacts the Upstate today, but will play a critical role in ensuring the region meets its long-term potential. In addition to Workforce and Skill Development, other topics to be discussed at the forums in 2013 include Natural Beauty & Resources and Transportation & Connectivity. During the forum on January 31st, participants will receive an overview of who is currently engaged in Workforce and Skill Development in the Upstate as well as a look at examples of "cutting edge" workforce and skill development programs being done across the country. However, most of the time will be spent in a group discussion with the goal of pinpointing some ofthe BIG and BOLD initiatives and opportunities that if done across the Upstate would help ensure that the region in 2030 is universally recognized as a leader in Workforce and Skill Development. The Our Upstate Vision Forum is free, but participants are asked to register in advance.
